What's weird about the database errors is the post usually goes through, but I don't close the window without verifying it so I can click back and not have to retype everything if it didn't...

I haven't had one post not go through when the database error shows up. Just annoying you have to go find the thread again.

Just click back twice (or hold "Alt" and the click on the left arrow) and hit refresh...

Work-arounds...

When you get the database errors, please provide the link to the section with the issue and a screen cap.

I don't have any loading issues here but is there a specific section that took longer than usual?
And what browser are you guys using? As well as, on the bottom left hand side of the browser, what is the forum waiting on to load?

Re: Anyone Else Slow Tonight?

Generally I don't think the link will help that much, it seems to be forum wide.

The slowness shows up random. One minute it's zippy the next 10 minutes it's slow and then back to normal for a good while. On occasion it's slow for long periods. But you'll know when that happens because lots of people will complain.

I'm using FF, it's an outdated version 22.0. Don't bother to tell me to update it, because it's not happening.

I'll see if I can catch what it's trying to connect to. But usually the frustration clouds the mind and you don't think of it til it's to late.

When the forum's running "normally", one or another ad server is the bottleneck. When these big slows hit, it's contractortalk.com.

Re: Anyone Else Slow Tonight?

I've had good performance recently. Occasionally I pause AdBlock in order to see ads on Google, forget that I've paused it, and come back to CT. Recently, the ads haven't seemed to be killing performance for me (and all those horrible ads that would drift across the page seem to be gone.)

[Edit: Well, that's funny. This post, pre-this-edit, took a full minute to post.]

I've gotten in the habit of...when I see things taking too long to post, which usually ends in a database message, I quickly highlight and copy my post.

I've had quite a few times in the last several days where I've made a post and it tells me I have to wait 30 seconds between posts...when it has been more like 30 minutes since the last one.

Re: Anyone Else Slow Tonight?

Hi guys,

Are you still getting the database errors? If so, please right click and hit view page source. Then copy that in here, or a PM so that we can look deeper into this.
I haven't noticed any site slowness myself, but I will keep an eye open for this.

Cheers,
Sheena

Re: Anyone Else Slow Tonight?

Sorry, I think this needs to clarified a bit.

When you get the database error page, can you paste the script that in the yellow box in here?
And if you don't have that yellow box, right-click>view page source.
I'll need the information that starts with:
Quote:
<form><textarea rows="15" cols="70" wrap="off" id="message">Database error in vBulletin x.x.x:

Invalid SQL:
and everything below that.
Thank you once again.
