Android App Increased Crash Rate

HTC EVO 3D
App version 1.3.13

There are two issues that I am having.
1. The app has always crashed a few times a week or so but for the past few weeks it is crashing several times a day.
2. And this is my biggest issue photos not showing. Sometimes a photo will show and the next time I'm in that thread the same photo won't show. There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason behind what prevents one photo from showing versus another, at least that I can see.

Re: Android App Increased Crash Rate

Same thing happens on my iPhone at times it's random though and no idea why it does it. If I close down all my other running apps it can sometimes fix it but not always.

If you have Verizon they are "soft" rolling out the OS "ice cream sandwich" so the apps are trying to cope. when i first DL it my phone (Razor Maxx) kept shutting itself off literally every morning. by maybe the 3rd day it was fine.

How much memory do you have available?

300 meg really isn't all that much these days. You may just be starving your phone of memory.

If you can, move some apps to your SD card to free up some space, or delete an app or two.

Yep. My Casio Commando stays about 170 meg free as it only has like 450 meg to start with. The rest of the family has newer smartphones with 4 gig onboard. I have a 16 gig SD card in mine, but onboard memory is too low.

Look for the app, "App 2 SD". It will allow you to move your apps with one click. Just don't move the App 2 SD app to your SD card, leave it on the phone memory.

Try this:

Open "settings" > Applications> Manage applications> select the app.
You should see boxes for "Clear Data" & "Clear Cache" clear them both.

YOU WILL NEED TO SIGN BACK IN when you re-open the app.

Sometimes when you have too much stored for an application it will misbehave.

Re: Android App Increased Crash Rate

My month old Samsung Galaxy Nexus ICS has be crashing a lot the last 5 days. It appears to have more than enough memory. Before this, it was very stable.

Galaxy s3....been getting quite a fair share of crashes. One to two a day.

Odd to hear you have no troubles. I noticed right away a few weeks back.

At worst, I cannot connect to the server...but that's Sprint's fault, not the S3.

Re: Android App Increased Crash Rate

I've never had a smartphone. I'm getting the impression from seeing these reports that it's not so much if the app crashes, it's how often. Is that true for Android apps in general, or just the CT app?

It's just like a computer, well because it is a computer, it depends on the app. And just like computers there are so many variations it's hard to get an app to run great on all of them.

Re: Android App Increased Crash Rate

I can't remember the last time my computer crashed, and I run a lot of different software.

But the smartphone market is pretty young compared to PC's...
