Soon To Be GC In San Diego

Hi guys, just registered for the site but have lurked in the past searching for info on various topics. I have been doing residential kitchen and bath work and a ton of apartment remodels as well as plumbing jobs on the side for most of the last decade. Decided a few months ago that I was done making excuses for not getting licensed and starting my own company and being my own boss for a change. Paid for contractor school and classes here in SD and have my test date next week.

I have an old boss that is ready to kick down some jobs to me once I am licenced and legit but until then Im still doing the daily grind working for another kitchen and bath remodeler. Gonna be a big transition with a lot of new challenges so I figured I could hopefully get some pointers here on the dos and donts when starting out.

Thanks in advance for everything.

Re: Soon To Be GC In San Diego

Thanks for the welcome guys. I took my tests this morning at the CSLB site and passed both on my first try! Sent off my papers and purchased my bond and in approx 3 weeks i will have my plastic in hand. So much to do in the meantime and get prepped for so im sure i will be spending a good chunk of time here asking for advise.

It's a great feeling. Especially the B license. That's a big one.
