Welcome to CT, I spent a lot of time in Orlando and my first framing job was off the OBT #441.

Re: New Member, New Business

Yeah, I guess the article really kinda skims over things a bit.. My career background has been Telecom work however prior to that I spent several years bouncing around in construction/remodeling. In 1983, I took and passed the exam for Class C Residential Builder in Orange County. At the time, the economy was slow and since I was making a pretty decent living in communications work, I did not pursue a business in building/remodeling.
Through the years I've kept my skills sharp by performing 'side jobs', mostly one day in and out kinda stuff but occasionally taking vacation time from regular job to take on larger projects.
My new business came into being March 2nd, 2011 and I managed to stay busy all month even in this highly competitive area.
I'm looking forward to finding tips and advice in this forum.
Thanks all!
