Builder Here + Son, New To Site, Want More Business

Hi Guys,

recently I've taken over my dads building business, we currently are doing bathroom and kitchen renovations, here in australia.

Anyway the plan is to eventually upgrade to a full contractors licence to complete structural and new homes/extensions. Also My dads built a couple of his own homes over his lifetime as well.

Anyway i'm on here because its hard getting new business. We were close to closing down but I've been wanting to get into building work for a while now so we're starting up again - so cant really contact old clients as its a very long time ago.

My budget is tight, where do I spend what should I do? thanks

Is the business name established?

If so make sure that you have logos on everything including job sites.

Might also be worth reaching out to bigger outfits to sub some work to keep the lights on and get your name out there more.

Carry business cards everywhere and let people you talk to know what you do. You'll be amazed how many requests you get on the spot for quotes, or someone wants to tell you about a project they were thinking about having done.

That must happen to me at least once a week.
