Re: Old Pickups

Hell i will throw out my opinion. I say go for an early/mid 90's Dodge Dakota, V6/5spd in 2wd. I had a 93 extra cab and i loved how it sat low for easy bed access, it got 21mpg with the A/C on, would go anywhere in the snow with good tires, parts were dirt cheap, it was reliable and easy to work on. Its a mid size truck but you could still lay a full sheet of plywood in it. With a customized ladder rack you could haul any size board and if laid on their sides who knows how many. You would still have the bed for other necessities like beer coolers!

Those are my questions.

Here is my answer:

Now I know you said "truck" and I know you said "Ford" and I know you said some other stuff about $6k or something, buuuuuuuuut I think you may want to make an exception because Pittsfield is about to change your life.

Trust me, we wouldn't be dating in that van. Swish!

Ethan, last year I was a hair's breadth from buying a '72 Tradesman as my daily driver. Don't tempt me. I'm just dumb enough to think it's a good idea.

Re: Old Pickups

Pat, here's today's haul from Western Mass.

'64 350
http://worcester.craigslist.org/cto/5035900092.html

'64 Dodge Power Wagon
http://worcester.craigslist.org/cto/5032186101.html

This one is the winner for today. '78 F150 XLT
Colors are off, but it looks like it's been kept well, minimal rust and wear, clean interior. Owner seems honest.
