Re: Just Curious: What Do You Guys Drive For Personal Vehicles?

Sold this baby last spring, along with a couple others that were clogging up the workshop.
It was too nice to drive as a personal vehicle so she went to a collector out in Nevada.
There's way too many potholes in this part of the country to enjoy a good ride without worrying about dinging up the wheels or chipping the paint.

Bet you would not have said that or even knew of Buggatti 3 years ago.

The Veyron has changed ALL the rules!

Re: Just Curious: What Do You Guys Drive For Personal Vehicles?

I just recently sold my favorite ride, my T/A, 383 LT1 stroker. I really miss that car, had it since I was 18.

I also have an 07' xterra for my time off. Pretty nice and its good on gas.

Work truck is a Dodge Ram 1500.

That is a respectable E.T., but I've seen MUCH quicker bugs.

1981 Jawa pedal start moped. I drive all over town on it. It gets like 5 billion miles per gallon or something like that. Too bad you think you are going to die trying to pedal start it. Its either that or the big block burban.

4 Cylinder? Non Turbo????? I have seen Bugs with Chevy 396 Rats in the front! But that does not count as a Bug! Nor a "sleeper"!!!

I did say that 13's was respectable, but I am SURE there are quicker naturally aspirated beetles out there...although we weren't specifying nat. asp.

What about oxide....that's still N.A. and is the ideal way to keep the car a sleeper. I don't know of any personally, but I will bet there are guys who squeeze their cars DEEP into the 10's.

Re: Just Curious: What Do You Guys Drive For Personal Vehicles?

I know guys with gutted drag bugs with less motor than I have, running 9's. My car is a 72 Superbeetle, considered fat and heavy in the VW world (2000lbs). It's set up to handle and brake, too, though. Earlier models can weigh 1500 lbs or less, some stripped closer to 1000lbs. I chose to keep my car with a full interior, street legal, and a sleeper. It's N/A, based on a bug case, 2276cc, cam, compression, big valves, big carbs, p/p...If I gutted my car, or swapped my motor and trans into a lighter car....

I plan to put a cage in, and TURBO it. (one day). Gotta keep it streetable though.
