Jeep Trailhawk Transmission Issues

Driving tonight an suddenly the transmission service message displays, car loses speed dropping into lower gear. actually may have shut off as I got another series of messages including one telling me to place car in P and restart the car. scary.

also get message that parking brake needs servicing,

Anyone heard of this in a Jeep but specifically a 2014 Trailhawk?

Re: Jeep Trailhawk Transmission Issues

My wife drives a 2014 Cherokee Trailhawk that has had 3 software updates, mostly for the transmission since we bought it new,
It only has about 32,000 miles on it now and we’ve had no other problems

It seems the updates were fine tuning the shift points

Where do you look for recalls?

That seems to be the big fix for everything...
Having a problem, run a software update.

My Ram pickup slips from 3-4th. Website I joined up and apparently fairly common with the transmission I have.

The fix...Take it to the dealer and have them reflash it. No more slip.

My wife trader her Grand Cherokee Trailhawk off....due to "quirky" things like the air suspension making noise....the auto sensing/braking stuff...the auto engine off feature would drive us both nuts.

Bought the new 2019 Ram....and it had to go in the shop for a software edit to the active noise cancelling feature. Literally roared inside the cab.

The "auto off" on the gas engine was what ultimately convinced my wife to get the Ecodiesel. She hated that and had test driven other brands and it seems everybody is going to that. I can't imagine how that must burn up a starter constantly restarting like that.

The auto lane departure she hated also and the Grand Cherokee lets you turn it off and it stays off until you turn it back on.

Coming from a Land Rover the air suspension we were used to it.

Overall happy with Grand Cherokee. Got the Overland model and get 26mpg driving around town with the Ecodiesel.

Re: Jeep Trailhawk Transmission Issues

My wife was coming off a Suburban, and wanted the room. The GC was too tight, in her opinion.

Funny thing is she has taken a hit on nearly every trade because she drives a lot...solved that by taking our 91 Ford Ranger and leaving the new truck in the garage. I bought the ranger to save miles on my truck. Uh huh.
