Re: It's The Last Night I'll See Her

You PA guys get all the good weather. We have had 12" of rain in the last 4 days and more is expected tomorrow. A might chilly of highs in the 50's, as well.

I normally just stand them up and rope them in unless I'm packed up with ladders.

Hey, tomorrow's supposed to be like 70 deg Golf anyone
The plywood was the first thing I thought about. If all leafs folded flat to the middle you would be fine. Then you could have had a cotter pin to hold the leaf into the tool box bracker. Maybe a slide latch or landscaping spikes through eye bolts to hold the second leaf up.

Re: It's The Last Night I'll See Her

Your never too old for fresh ideas so keep them coming guys

Probably shouldn't have said I can't lay sheets flat, just not on the bed floor. Both leafs folded down will allow a full sheet to slide in flat, just elevated by a 2 x 12 on each side. If you picking up studs or other nominal lumber, it's easy to place that first, then lay your sheets on top.

Also talked to my alarm guy today who is ford certified and he's going to use the upgrade system ford offers which will utilize the same keypads as I have now. It won't have the auto window close feature since it not available, but the doors, glass, boxes and some type tow sensor feature are included. He's a mobile installer so the job is done where ever I want which is quite convenient.

Each day passing offers a little more progress as today I was able to craft of some box shelves using aluminum C-channel and birch plywood. Nothing fancy here just the basics that I'm use to.

Rock guard is getting bolted on today also which I made from 10ga steel and is what offers roof protection from loader dumps and such that inevitably happen from time to time. I think it's 15" wide with reverse bends on either side. Buffered on some rubber spacers and through bolted so shes stays put.

Also strung some cable for all the wonderful bungees I'm known to carry , but will also accommodate hooks, rope and whatever else I need hung.

Re: It's The Last Night I'll See Her

Went out to the garage tonight to fiddle with the shelves I made earlier and did a dry fit,...Nice cup of coffee and some tunes and I'm actually enjoying this part of the fit out.

I leave two boxes full size and place center shelves in the remaining two. Adds a little bit of flexibility in storage so it work for me.

Little change of plans in terms of the rubber liner I bought earlier - decided to carpet the bottom with that interior /exterior carpet the big box sells and I'll use the rubber runner for sections of the back side.

I'll partition off the end of the shelf so stuff don't fly around from box to box and that should do it.

Might be able to start loading some tools in here tomorrow guys and believe me,...it's good feeling.

A lot of damn work putting this truck together I'll say

Re: It's The Last Night I'll See Her

Here's the partitions I needed to make,...two fold in effect as a support
and partition to keep gear in their respective boxes. Had a little 3/4 birch plywood hanging around, so that's what I used

I'm gluing down the rubber material with flo free gutter top adhesive and it's workin' pretty nice. Don't want to completely partition the boxes as I store longer levels and such, just enough to keep things in place.

Thought it was supposed to rain today

Re: It's The Last Night I'll See Her

Did the other side the same way,...Added a few gussets along the partition to stiffen it up and it looks pretty good. Only thing i want to do is support midspan with an small angle which I'll stick right to the rubber wall.

Looky here, I'm starting to put stuff in already

Re: It's The Last Night I'll See Her

So how does one go about stickin' a small angle to a rubber wall without drilling more holes ?...Improvise

Since I'm just using various material I got laying around to do these and no real blueprint, you just swing it.

Had some 3M window tape and steel angle I seen laying around so I joined them up. Once the glue sets on the rubber, I'll peel and stick this sucker right under the center of the shelf and I should be golden.

Yea right, watch the whole thing come crashing down once the glue and tape fails

Hey, here's a good daylight shot of my rock/roof guard

Re: It's The Last Night I'll See Her

Went back out tonight trying to take advantage of the mild weather we've had the last couple of days, but a cold front is brewing. Winds picked up big time and it's chilly out here tonight

Just a few finishing touches with the angle placement and door guard material I had left over from the dodge. Stuff has been sitting in my attic for about 16 years but it still looks pretty good.

Every time I scrape my hand on this piece, I tell myself to do it,...just never found the time or energy I suppose. What a nice fit, looks like it was made for this purpose

I knew there was a reason I like my Makita radio

Not fully loaded yet,...still workin' on a plan for the back seat as I do use this space often.

Thinkin' about removing the seat assembly and maybe some van style wall shelves.

No worries, I'll keep ya posted...

Re: It's The Last Night I'll See Her

Since I've lately been decreasing payload capacity by piling equipment on ,...I've decided to do an about face and shed a few pounds if you will

Lets see here,...how the hell does this thing come out

Pretty easy actually. As long as you have the proper metrics and t-55/60 torx, you'll be alright. Seat cushions were no sweat,...back rest was another story Where the hell are those release clips anyway

Wow,... really opens up this space and gives me an idea of what I'm dealing with in terms of storage design.

Although, I got my ideas,...I'd love to hear what some others think.

I know my alarm guy will be happy with the access back to the boxes now so that should make his job a bit easier.

Hey, anyone need superseals 2012 superduty supercab rear seat

Try saying that 10 times real fast

Re: It's The Last Night I'll See Her

I finally found the three clips that need to be released to remove the backrest and put the seat in long term storage. I never took the dodge one out although I probably should have as it really does open up some space.

Been looking into van style shelves and been tossing around making whatever I need to fit it out. Came across a wiring harness, which during assembly became severely pinched in place which made me hair stand up , so I fixed that along the way.

Looks like I got a blank slate here folks - lets get some ideas rolling

I was going to ask if you were going to add some helper springs or bags. We have an F-250 and I like the ride and it can tow plenty...but it always looks like the ass is sagging.

I wish the ass would sag a bit - damn near need a step ladder to get up the tailgate still.

Still haven't thrown a ton or two on her so I'll keep you posted on that one.
