F350 Or F450?
I think I'm going to get a dually pickup to replace my 2015 f350 srw
the f350 and f450 drw have almost the same towing specs the 450 still has bigger brakes and the wide track front end for better turning would be a 2018 or 2019 any one have any experience with either? some say the 450 rides way worse due to the 19.5s and commercial tires it has Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk Last edited by Donohue Const; 08-16-2018 at 05:14 PM. |

Re: F350 Or F450?
I wouldn’t bother with the f450 pickup. It seems like a joke. If you are really going that route, just get a f450 cab and chassis and put a flatbed on it.

Re: F350 Or F450?
c&c is derated by a lot, and cant tow as much
so it will be a pickup towing 32' gooseneck tool trailer gooseneck flatbed to haul skid loader, boom lift and scissor lift Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

Re: F350 Or F450?
Are you sure the 450 pickup has a greater GCWR than a 450 or 550 C&C?

Re: F350 Or F450?
450 pickup, 42,800
450 chasis, 34,500 550 chasis, 40,000 450 pick up max towing, 34,000 550 chasis max towing, 31,400 very stupid numbers, I think a f550 should be rated high but that's how they rated them Last edited by Donohue Const; 08-18-2018 at 07:05 AM. |

Re: F350 Or F450?
Wtf are you planning on pulling? I’d be willing to bet the C&C would be more reliable with the derated engine in the long run.
A 34000 lbs trailer is 6800 lbs of tongue weight. Nuts. |

Re: F350 Or F450?
hell, the regular cab 4x2 f350 drw is 40,000 gcwr, and max towing of 32,000
pretty much the same as a f550 on paper Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

Re: F350 Or F450?
I want to be able to tow whatever I want and have it legal
empty gn trailer, 8500#,boom lift, 15000# that's about 23,500# empty gn trailer, 8500#, 14 round bales, 1500# each 29,500# that is one reason they de-rate the chasis, they figure employees will be the drivers and less power will hopefully mean less abuse and make it last longer I'm the only driver, so I dont really plan to abuse my own truck Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

Re: F350 Or F450?
I’ve never payed much attention to the GCWR, just watch the tire, axle, and hitch ratings.
