Re: Chevy 2500 Crew Cab Long Box Gas

So yesterday I drove the 1500 to the dealer to pick up the 3500, and she died in the lot. Chuckle, talk about timing. It's an electrical issue.

Truck is home, put on the wheel to wheel steps. These are powder coated; I couldn't find a nice stainless steel comparable.

My rack hasn't arrived yet. When it does, I'll install it along with the two Weatherguard tool boxes.

Just feels wrong putting steps on a truck.

The wife and kid appreciate them, and I appreciate them not kicking the side of my truck to knock off their boots.

First thing I installed on my truck was a step.

Thanks, I need to get some for my srw 3500.

My dually has wheel to wheel steps, and we use it all the time to get stuff out of the front of the bed. I just don't like the design of mine though.

Didn't have steps on my first two work trucks, I buy crew cabs and use them as personal trucks also now, steps are nice for the wife and kids. Had to put my grandma in my truck the other day pretty sure she wouldn't have got in without a step.

I had no issues getting into the cab, but the bed is a pita.

I was day dreaming yesterday about how nice it would be to have an air suspension on it so I could drop it down when parked. Maybe on the next truck, I know Ram offers that at least on the 1500, not sure if they have it on the 2500 yet

Mine is complaining she can't lift the baby into the car seat so if I wanna keep the pickup she wants steps.

I think my wife's only ridden in my pick up twice - camping trips. Otherwise we take hers.

My kids ride in it twice a day

My 2011 2500 is 8" higher than my 2003 was. Not sure why.

Let me know if you're serious about this model/brand. I can give you the number to the salesman I used for direct purchase, which was less than internet pricing.

The rear step near bed does have a little give being it doesn't have a solid support; instead it has a steel arm with secondary rubber arm. If you're on the heavy side, she'll give some.

ALSO, the shipping company they used required delivery site assistance for the weight. Honestly the weight isn't much, I handled it by myself...but they also didn't tell me and so I lost time getting it. I ended up picking it up direct from the shipping hub.

Sooner or later I'm gonna bite the bullet and get a set of these Automatic running boards.

https://www.amp-research.com/amp-res...1a-b-powerstep

The permanent ones tend to be crap collectors for snow and slush and mud, and I don't like them hanging down so low all the time.

On the other hand, $1600 bucks on running boards sounds like a wasteful way to spend.

I found some I liked, but I am not drilling holes in my rocker panels to install them. Pretty similar to the steps you put on your new truck. Like the style, but not enough to put holes in my truck.

This model did not require any new penetrations on the vehicle. However, it is painted steel on steel bolted...
