Has anyone made their own bed slide? I have a good plan for building the platform, just looking for ideas what to use for the slides or whatever it's goin to slide on to pull out
My brother made on for his last truck. He mounted casters upside down in the bed of his truck and the platform slid out on those. Then he had a stop cleat on the sides to keep it from sagging and flipping out.
I tried a few times. Then I found this on CL. http://www.extendobed.com/ Full 8' pull out and mine is rated at 1800 pound load. I got it used for $500.
The fhb article was more of a few drawers. I'm thinking some 500# drawer slides 60" long would work nice, but they're pricey. Around $300 for the pair
