Aluminum Rack For Transit

Not sure where to start looking, but I'd like an aluminum uncoated rack so I can beat it up and not worry about rust.

There is a reputable welded/powder coated rack place nearby. Should I just go with what they have?

Any recommendations?

I have the System One not sure they make one for the Transit. I had a Weatherguard that was great but did eventually rust.

Re: Aluminum Rack For Transit

I went with Texas Truck Racks, i am no sure of all they have to offer for the Transit. I am not too crazy with how they mount as the rack is four separate cross braces and each mounts to one bolt hole on each side. When i ratchet down ladders the rear cross brace has a tendency to twist.
I wish now i had gone with one solid rack that mounts to all eight bolt holes.

My uncle uses a guy that worked for Pro Tech until they shut down their custom shop. He's halfway local to you, just across the river in WA. I can get his info if you're interested.

Re: Aluminum Rack For Transit

I'll need to ask around locally too. I'd love to have someone else install and warranty the installation. Maybe I'll just go with the powder coated steel place after all. They have a good reputation.
