Re: 6.4 Powerstroke

What are they asking for it?

I would get a long bed tundra. Ive beat the hell out of mine for the last decade. Two front end collisions, five rear end collisions. I drive in a fing war zone!

To date I have changed the battery twice.

Load it to the brim with lumber, haul debris but I dont tow anything. V6 16 mpg city 22 highway.

Re: 6.4 Powerstroke

21k privately financed. It is honestly out of my budget but I can trade a good deal of labor against the balance so I am considering going for it. I need a more professional more capable truck

Re: 6.4 Powerstroke

I would ask for build paperwork if it is studded. See what kind of parts were used ect! What tune is it running? Run an oasis report on the truck. Maintaining these trucks goes a long way. There better not be any emissions equipment still on it. If there is I wouldn't buy it. The 6.4 engine as a reputation of eating itself. Easy to make big power with a tune and the sequential turbos it has. Fun engine. See if at a build 1 or 2 truck from the date of build.

Re: 6.4 Powerstroke

That's ridiculous high for a 9 yo pick up in my opinion, last used I bought was a 2012 4x4 crew cab super duty, 13 months old with like 55k on it for 24,500. I bought new this time but I have always found good deals on used if I shop online.

What kind of interest rate , Andy?

Good info. I know he maintains his trucks. I have done a little reading on it. It has an H&S tuner, not sure what it's current setting is. I'm told it's fast, but I'm not sold on fast, I am sold on reliability and life left

Correct. This is a private deal between the seller and myself. I'm not really in a position to buy something with the house project right now in a traditional manner

This guy though lost half his shop shingles and owes me a 2 grandish labor credit on a job that I bartered with him on so I could in theory make a $5,000~ no out of pocket cash down payment between that and his roof.

I offered him an 18 month Payment timeline. We will see what he says.

Good lord, bro, might as well get some lipstick and heels That's way to high an interest rate, dude. I felt bad selling one of our diesels to a kid for 8%.

I've been looking at local inventory and it's not really a horrible price. I've seen the exact truck with none of the extras for just a much. Now then if I play my hand right I can finish out the deal and come out of it for maybe 12 grand out of pocket cash and the rest trading off work that I pay less for. Hell I wouldn't mind committing 2 days a month to him of my labor. I doubt he would take me up on that though.

Unless you have another Texas Diesel sitting around you want to sell me I don't have many options. My current truck needs to be retired or I need to sink 3 grand into a 95 Dakota. That is the poorer choice imo

If you are sold on reliability. Then I would pass on the 6.4. Just my opinion. Unless it has been very well maintained. Which most are not

His trucks are religiously maintained. His cousin owns a performance diesel shop
