Why You Don't Put A Saw Blade On An Angle Grinder....

This looks like about the most unsafe grinder setup I can imagine. How ignorant do you have to be to think this is a good idea? No guard??? Just thinking about using that thing gives me chills.

WARNING!!! GRAPHIC!!! DO NOT CLICK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE SOME DUDE IMPALED WITH A 7" SAW BLADE!!!

Actually, it's not terrible. (subjective) I just don't want all the hate from the pansies saying I didn't warn you...

I guess this guy lives to have another 'darwin' moment.

Is this just another instance where rules don't apply 'because I'm a farmer'?

A grinder with a 7 inch diamond blade for concrete scares me. I'd never put a circular saw blade on one. Natural selection is right!

Re: Why You Don't Put A Saw Blade On An Angle Grinder....

"Doesn't want to use another power tool". Hmm...

The way that sounds,....its as if the tool decided to cop an attitude towards him ......lunging ,....chasing.....and eventually getting its revenge,,,

Seriously........

Another case of - "it wasn't my fault"....

Never mind that what "he" created was not intended for such use....

Don't get me wrong,...I feel for the guy

But don't make it sound like the power tool was faulty.......

Wrong application.......

I don't know how it happened but I imagine that from the first pull of the trigger, that thing would "gyroscope" on you and rotate itself.

Even if you hold it with both hands, I imagine that it can still get out of control.

Especially with a wood cutting blade in it!?!

Anyone who has ever spent enough time behind a circular saw, (which is what the blade is designed for ) knows there is always a chance of a "kickback".

Fn idiot.

This looks like an entry for "The Darwin Awards"

That gene pool should be chlorinated.

I forgot about the kickback aspect of it. The article says that he was cutting firewood. I imagine that he was doing rip cuts in an attempt to split the logs.

Re: Why You Don't Put A Saw Blade On An Angle Grinder....

About 20 years ago I was working on a large commercial demo job and we routinely used a 12" partner saw with a wood blade in it to cut wood . Gives me chills thinking about it now.

Re: Why You Don't Put A Saw Blade On An Angle Grinder....

I can't imagine cutting firewood with a 7" blade or an angle grinder. Why would someone invent chain saws if it was a good idea?

I guess he was trying to create a minature one of these:
