I think back and hope they were just some lost tools and not some guys tools that were sentimental.
When someone demos the kitchen I did a few years ago, they are welcome to the leather grip Estwing 16oz I set on the top of the cabs then nailed up the last riser board and crown. Since it was all custom and I had almost no waste, I wasn't taking a chance causing damage it by removing it. The $25 hammer is still there.

Garbage bags.....they looked around enough (we followed the muddy prints) but I guess the Sakrete was to heavy.

Found my own hammer and channel locks under the tub we had installed when we installed a tub in the bathroom that backed up to the first one (couple months later). I don't know how I remembered that they were there.

Re: What Have You Stolen From A Jobsite?

Hah it is work. Sometimes work can be fun.

When we go into an empty house after a foreclosure or eviction it's up to me to dispose as I see fit. So the first half hour of the job is taking pictures and tagging stuff for resale.

It's amazing what people leave behind.

My policy is this: if you want it, take it. If two people cant agree on who gets what, it gets tossed to avoid arguments.

Anyone argue over that pink thingy? That's too funny, and kind of gross...

Re: What Have You Stolen From A Jobsite?

Haha the "adult toys" are always good for a cheap laugh.

Had a new guy reach into a purse once. He thought he found a new flashlight....

Don't really get arguments from my 3 regular helpers. If someone calls dibs the other will say "i get it next time" and they're cool with that.

Forget buying storage units, thats a suckers bet. We get paid for this stuff.

It evens out. Sometimes I get a meth lab house, and other times I'm emptying $500k houses.

Heres a laptop I got last week.

Re: What Have You Stolen From A Jobsite?

A soapstone wood stove- we were replacing a deck, and the stove was in our way. We asked the homeowner if it could be moved out of the way. He said that the stove came with the house, and they replaced it with a pellet stove. He said he wanted it gone and any of us could have it. I swung the crane around, rigged it up, and dropped it in the bed of my pickup.

Nah, I hate above ground pools. Scrap pile!

Also got thirteen sections a heavy ass 8' privacy fence. Good thing we have a flatbed.
