Nice try Barry. Would you like to compare your work with mine? See here is the difference between you and me. I've got 30 years behind me and I understand that tools don't make the man. Skill and experience make the carpenter. I'm 100% sure I can use Royobi tools and make you look bad. So keep on with the oh this guy can't afford Festool stupidly.

Oh what about this grow up thing? So what are you saying Barry Cornwell? I'm immature because I dispute your absurd claims that Festool is so much better? What I'm trying to explain to you Barry is that Festool is not the best tool company. I believe they do make some great tools. However, Mafell has some tools that are much better. Take a look at the Mafell jig saw...best by far, how about the Mafell Erica? Dude get educated beyond what you learn here.

Ok let's assume for a second you do. What does that mean. That you went out and spent more money than I did? So what cuz...does that mean you are an exceptional carpenter? No it doesn't. What it points out is you think buy buying Festool that automatically turns you into a first class craftsman. Sorry dude it doesn't. That takes way more than money can buy you.

Kent Brobeck seems to be board today, maybe he's in the doghouse and has found an outlet for his frustrations

You don't need to assume! I have

I have dropped to your level a couple times now and I'm not gonna do it again. All that matters is I have more tools and better tools than you. Dam that's 3 times now

Look man there's people on these forums who know vastly more about tools than you or me. If Mafell were so great this forum would be full of them. Now mafell are nice tools but the issue is dealers. I can goto just one of my festool dealers 7 days a week. If I need a blade, domino's, sandpaper, vac bags, accessories, tools, parts etc etc it's less than a 5min drive and the majority of it is in stock. For that reason alone I would buy festool over mafell even if mafell were 10x better. They are fairly priced compared to mafell products and they make more tools than mafell. I would also by festool over mafell for the t-locs alone.

I have looked at mafell numerous times also. I looked at erika70 before I bought my CMS-GE with the TS75 insert to convert it to a table saw and it was a no brainer to get the CMS and that was not just based on cost alone either.

What I still don't get is if mafell is so great why did you buy into festool?

Re: TS55 REQ Recall

I never said customer service is what seals the deal for me. I met all the guys down at Festool 4 years ago. They liked the way I used tools, no petting or polishing them. I will make it clear that I don't like something. I have made good friends with the guys at Festool, great bunch of people.

Yes, I have been testing some tools for them, mostly to see how they hold up.
I don't suck them off for free crap, that is not me. I feel a little embarassed getting something from them. If something sucks they make, I will damn sure say something.

Say what you want, but the people behind the scenes at Festool, is what makes them a great company.

Re: TS55 REQ Recall

They took care of me for the time I spent taking care of them. It was of my own free will, no one made me do it, they asked, I said sure it sounds like fun. It was fun. I enjoyed showing off my old machines right next to something like the 55R.

Re: TS55 REQ Recall

OK I can't stand it any longer. I haven't been on here in months & look what is still going on I'm still using tools I bought before a lot of you green people ever stopped peeing in your diapers. The one question no one has ever asked is....If the green tools are so much better then why is there so much concern for customer service?

Because even if you don't need it you know they will be there when you do need them.

Here's the problems I have had since using festool.

Kapex- destroyed the blade guard and bent the fence. Basically my fault and they sorted me with a brand new saw.

RAS - Velcro pad had production issue where Velcro was not perfect. It threw the pads when on full speed. They sent me a couple of free pads

CT33 - spring on receptacle flap come loose. Didn't affect the function of anything. They sent me a whole new receptacle unit.

Systainer - bottom of sys1 had a crack. Looked like a molding issue when formed. Didn't notice for 1 year it was like this. Exchanged for a brand new one

Systainer - old style latch cracked. Sent me a couple of packs enough to fix 2 whole systainers

TS55R - had the fastfix issue and they swapped it out there and then.

Not really many issues when you consider how many of there tools I have and the service has been flawless.
