For those of you that have used them, can they be used to cut subflooring that originally ran underneath the cabinets. Or are they just for the toekicks only. Thanks in advance.

Also if so, what brand would you recommend.

This is one of the very few times I would actually recommend the HF tool. I have the Crain and a buddy of mine has the HF. For the price difference (HUGE) factoring in how often I've actually had to use it (4-5 times last 5+ years) it's a no-brainer imo. Get the 2 year warranty HF offers for like 8 bucks and don't look back. Buy extra blades, you WILL need them. I also use a Fein for the corners.

I've never used the cheap HF one. Didn't even know they made one till years after I bought my crain. But you're right, it doesn't come outta the trailer very often. But when I need it, it's a nice tool to own. If I were in cooks position, I'd buy the cheapo too.
