All right, we've talked about it long enough so I think it's time we organized ourselves and held a virtual meeting. Here's what I'm proposing; at the end of each week we come to this thread and confess our "sins" for the week. We are a sick lot us "tool buyers" and I think it will help knowing that we aren't alone and there are others like us out there! I'll go first...

Hello, my name is Terry and it's been 12 hours since I bought my last tool. This past week I purchased a used 1/2" Dewalt hammer drill for $55 (it's used so I don't think it should count!) and new tool belt (I really needed it and it was one with the built in back support so I don't think that should count either since it should really be classed as a medical purchase).

Whew, that feels better getting that off my chest. I'll just sit down now and turn the podium over to...

I am heavy into Dewalt as most know but getting big into M12 now too. I love the M12 size for power, way better than the Dewalt 12v, which I have too. M12 has a nice selection of tools and hopefully adding more.

On a side note, my M12 drill stopped working yesterday, put battery in and no lights or anything....not sure whats up.

Heavy SOB, and a two hander for sure. It does remove metal pretty well, and I only ran a 7" disk today (Guard is on the grinder just turned). Gonna need to try a 9" disk on it for even faster removal. I have a few 4 1/2" grinders and a 5", but needed something that removes material faster. So far I am happy with it. Anyone use a cutting disk on a grinder this size? If so 7 or 9"? I keep a cutting disk on a 4 1/2" grinder, but am thinking a larger cutting disk might have it's uses.

Aaron,

That Rolair 'the bull' compressor is a identical twin to a made in the USA Jenny (formerly Emglo) , I bought a few years ago. It is a nice compressor my only complaint is amperage draw on startup.

It ran well even in the winter for me and worked just fine doing framing with two guns and even spraying some paint. We also sprayed texture ceiling with it and it did well on that too.

Right on. I remember seeing a thread on here a while ago about emglo compressors and people really liking them. I know Rolair makes some models stateside, but don't remember if the bull was one or not. One thing I really liked about my California air, was that it only had a 7 amp draw. I'm gonna see if I can keep it running for trim work at least.

Glad to hear yours is working well for you. What kind of paint were you spraying? It would be nice to be able to spray doors and built ins

No pics, but picked up a Bosch 10 amp 4 1/2" angle grinder on Friday, and was pleasantly surprised to see it was made in Germany. My Stabila jamber levels showed up at my shop today, along with some Bulldog SDS bits, and I ordered a Bosch MR23 plunger router yesterday and a couple more L-Boxxes. And they had 6' aluminum ladders for $40 at Home Depot today. Bunch of Flexzilla extension cords last week, and a couple more air hoses. Need to stop for a bit...

I don't like drilling blind either, I have scoped the wall from top and bottom and it is empty except for the stupid fire break which is making me bust out the long bits.

I'm not to worried on this job as worst case I bust out the wall in an area I didn't mean to and have to patch it.

I always let the customer know that if they want me to break out the long bit there is potential for things to go wrong
