Re: TBA Meeting 2 (Tool Buyers Anonymous)

I had considered the Infinity, ended up with the Woodpecker. Only reason I went with WP was it was on sale when I was looking for one.

I didn't like the turn screws for the hold downs. To slow when you have 40 doors to make. Is the base Phenolic or Aluminum? The Infinity is aluminum.

Phenolic.

You run on a shaper or router table? I got mine for the shaper, my router table has a sliding table.

Re: TBA Meeting 2 (Tool Buyers Anonymous)

For the shaper mainly making doors. But wainscoting also. 5 1/2" max width was a constraint since my lower rail is almost always 6".

Me: Self, you have a lot of paint stripping to do, and youíve wanted a Festool RAS115 for a long time. But work has been slow lately so you should probably figure out a more cost effective way to accomplish that task.

Also me: Donít be a f*****g p***y.

It sucks, I hope.

I got it in Thursday, but havenít even pushed a battery into it. Maybe this weekend.

The Oxx coffee box is great. Warms up and brews hot water in a minute or two.

I'm going to be buying it. Just been holding off for a deal or price match opportunity.
One thing I want to know is the run time of the vac with 6ah. I heard only 12 minutes on 9ah but was long time ago.

I almost pulled the trigger on the Metabo deal but I have this vac in mind...thinking it would be a better 5th vac to add...

I want to say I heard 20 min with a 9.

Iíll get a decibel meter app on my phone again and measure it with a fresh 6 till it runs out.

Iíll do it Tomorrow because I know you guys are counting on me.

I also was waiting for a discount. Acme tools had 14% off on February 14th. 349 bare tool.

Tested today inside the garage:

About 85 Db from a foot away, about 90Db toward the end of the hose.
The filter cleaner clicks twice every 20 seconds at about 88Db.

Itís not overly noisy, it sounds like the motor is contained more ďinsideĒ the container than ďoutsideĒ like a shop vac. Slightly muffled.

The sound (pitch/frequency?) of the motorís RPM isnít annoying. Too loud and too high really bothers me.

22 minutes with a fresh 9.0 AH battery. You can hear the motor slowing down a bit after 20 minutes.

12 + minutes with a fresh 6.0 AH battery. It sounds like it had just a bit lower RPMs with the smaller battery. It started slowing down a bit at 11 minutes.

It comes with a fleece vacuum bag, and paper bags are available as are plastic tank liners.

You can also get a longer hose and an adapter to fit tools without the ďairlockĒ system.
