All right, we've talked about it long enough so I think it's time we organized ourselves and held a virtual meeting. Here's what I'm proposing; at the end of each week we come to this thread and confess our "sins" for the week. We are a sick lot us "tool buyers" and I think it will help knowing that we aren't alone and there are others like us out there! I'll go first...

Hello, my name is Terry and it's been 12 hours since I bought my last tool. This past week I purchased a used 1/2" Dewalt hammer drill for $55 (it's used so I don't think it should count!) and new tool belt (I really needed it and it was one with the built in back support so I don't think that should count either since it should really be classed as a medical purchase).

Whew, that feels better getting that off my chest. I'll just sit down now and turn the podium over to...
This thread is a continuation of the original TBA Meeting.

Speaking of, I went into home depot today and saw a display for the "ring" jobsite security setup. Does anybody have any experience with this or a similar product?

Milwaukee 18V 12amp batteries used to be $200. Now I see 8am for $200 and 12 amp for $250.

Also, our 12amp may be acting up like the 9amps did...so we're keeping an eye on them.

We're slowly cycling our 9amps out for 8amp. ...which may literally take months.

Odd note. My tool rep said for every Milwaukee battery he has in for repair, he's getting 40-50 Dewalt! Huh? Double take on that one.

I have a dust deputy hooked to my RO sander in my shop. I can fill the bucket about half way full with dust and there is very little in the vac filter. I have also used it when I need to cup grind a concrete floor before tiling and I can fill the bucket pretty full with concrete dust and still have great suction.

Personal preference. Keeps more sun off my ears / neck, and it does keep a bit more stuff from going down the neck. Also has a clip for my headlight. I can find ears for it just fine. I found face shields for it just fine. But its one or the other. When I need a face shield - I also need hearing protection. anyway - I'll probably just get stuck with ears only, and rig up some "whatever" for a face shield.

Dipped into the First Communion money and paid up for the Honda gx motor with the triplex pump. Was on sale at Tractor Supply couple months ago for $50 off. View attachment 518259

I got one with a GX200 clone. The real GX was out of budget. They got sued by Honda, and the parts aren't interchangable anymore, but I have a rear tine tiller, and a chipper with the same engine. I think it's the Predator 212? It's no Honda, but the start first pull and run great so far. None have more than a few hours on them though, time will tell. I have Honda envy!

Edit - idk how that ended up in the quote but I fixes it.

What are you replacing?

I was on my older Massey yesterday and driving away with it thinking, "Man, I love this old thing". It is the most neglected vehicle in my fleet and never gives me any trouble" Then, when I walked back to where it was parked, there was an oil slick on the asphalt.
Dammit.

The results were ambiguous, but I'm pretty sure you meant this one:

Track saw is what I think he meant.

Pneumatic tool Drill Handheld power drill Tool Hammer drill

I just picked up one of these from Ridgid. I have the Makita 12 volt hack-all and it is fine for some really light cutting like into drywall or cutting copper pipe or something like that. And I have the Makita 18 Volt X 2 big recipe saw but the thing is a beast. It cuts faster than anything I ever had before but god damn it gets heavy quick.

So I saw this at the HD for $99.00 and picked it up.

Andy like this one.

Found this 503 for $60. Works great, remembered how much I hate replacing power cords. These are worm drive sanders and were selling for up to a thousand bucks when they stopped making them in 2009. Even found they stock belts at the orange store. Ordered a new dust collection bag that I’ll have to modify to fit. Looking for a local source for skil worm drive oil. Lumber yard doesn’t carry any. I’m liking it more than my Bosch 4x24, very balanced side to side.
