Re: Share The Tool Deals (Canada)

From what I am seeing Home Depot in the USA has some of the best tool deals. Guess you folks up North not having a turkey day to over eat aren't getting in on the action.

Christmas shopping on Black Friday isn't as big in Canada? No Hallmark company? No mobs at Walmart fighting over who gets the cheap crappy TV? Going to the mall and getting in a shouting match over who gets the only available parking spot after driving around the lot 5 times. Those are true American traditions...unfortunately.

We still have the ridiculous mobs... But without all the amazing deals. The way it's structured up here is not much different than a regular sale. We pretty much just ride on the coattails of the 'merican Black Friday.

A better title for the second one is “multi-culturalism”
That Canadian video screamed of privilege.

Plus it looked like Walmart vs Best Buy.

I’ve often imagined if Amazon had a storefront it would put the Walmart mobs to shame on bf.

Brutal take. The video is purposely a massive contrast in behaviour at an attempt at humour. I am sure there are Canadian videos similar to the USA one and vice versa. For all we know both videos are Canadian.

But to suggest that it is because Canada isn't multicultural is just ignorant.

How close are you to the border? HomeDepot has a drill driver oscillating multi tool combo kit for $139 USD online. Go with the ship to store option if you're near the border and have another excuse to visit the states.

Rona is the one place I wont even look at their flyer. The store here is such a joke. They did a major renovation a year or two ago and the place is still a dinosaur. I feel so awkward going in there.

Re: Share The Tool Deals (Canada)

I don't shop for tools at our Rona, although they do carry Max nailers and Stabila. Their lumber yard though is one of our most used, and their contractor service desk is up there as best in town.

Come to think of it, the other top yard in town is basically the exact same. I don't shop for tools there, but our Home Hardware has the other excellent desk, and lumber yard too.

People still use eBay? Once I discovered Amazon and they started selling tools, I haven't bought a single thing from ebay.

Amazon can't touch Ebay. Plus I am okay with buying some used tools.
