Porter Cable 3-1/2 In. Full Round Framing Nailer

I don't do much framing but i couldn't pass up on this.I know it's probably not what the pros use but its a heck of a good deal.I probably only use it 2-4 times a year for small projects.

I have a couple of the porter cables, older models, and they have always performed well for me. I've used them for framing and have banged on a lot of sheathing.

I have the older version of that and I like it. Always works for what I need it for. I Only do framing like twice a year so it's not getting a big work out by any means

The newer porter cable framers are finicky, IMHO.

I'm happy with the Paslodes.

Seems like whenever there's a good tool out there, after a while they find a way to cheapen it. This is the lower end version of their 350.

I have the clipped head. Never had a problem.

I know some building codes require full head nails, so I this seems like a great deal.

The big box stores leverage the s**t out of these companies to meet price points so they have to cut corners somewhere.

I bit it too. Im mostly a coil guy when I need to use it, but the coil is heavy when full. Lol.

I find the sticks to be cheaper for Galvanized- true in your area?

I got it just for the few times I need odd nails. I have a coil gun also but the coil nails are much more expensive for the few times I use it.

True. But I also think that there's a limited, almost fixed market of big/good tool users and I bet that market is declining.....so they reduce the quality of some of their tools to get it to a lower price point, so more people can buy it (homeowners/handymen/maintenance/etc.). Tuff gig for manufacturers all around.
