Well, if 'well-thought-out' translates to 'no, this tool is not part of a kit', then yes, it's 'well thought out'.

Damn snarky sparky!

Is it your first wire bender back when you were doing K&T?

Re: Mystery Tool

I'll put it this way:

I did a Google search to see if I could find a website or a video of this tool, and came up.....................

with absolutely nothing.

Yes, there are tools being made today that do what this does. Both hand and powered tools. But I cannot find one single thing on the innernets about it, even using multiple search parameters of what it actually is.

So my guess is the only one who is going to know what it is is someone who actually has used one.

This is one of just 3 tools of my dad's that I wanted to keep for myself. The other two are an electric screwdriver and sabre saw from the mid 50's (yes, older than me!). Both have metal cases, not the plastic or composite they use today. Beautiful looking tools. I'll post photos of them sometime in another thread.

But for now......... the mystery will continue.

Based on what I could find online, I'm amending my original answer of sharpening tool, to sharpening tool for scissors...

Probably wrong, but since I can't get back the time I wasted trying to find out, might as well put it out there...

Re: Mystery Tool

Something for scoring thin sheet metal?

Seems like a strange set up for a wire tool thingy.
