I just ordered the Milwaukee 10" 18v cordless miter saw, with two 9ah batteries for under $500. Good deal?

For a used saw I guess it's decent.

Let me know how you like it. I've had some issues with its vertical clearance for 5 1/4" baseboard.

Re: Milwaukee 10" 18v Cordless Miter Saw - Under $500
That's one of my big gripes with this saw. You have to pull the slide out a little from full back to cut through the 5 1/4". Kind of irritating. The claim of 5 3/4" vertical capacity is a bit misleading and disappoints me. Other than that it's a pretty nice saw. And of course I see it cheaper than when I bought mine not too long ago, argg!

Mike - I guess the other solution is to cut the material flat and use the 45 bevel. It is disappointing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Milwaukee 10" 18v Cordless Miter Saw - Under $500
Real pain in the ass to use the bevel if you don't have to. Almost took it back after I figured that out, plus the fact you have to remove the right fence completely in order to do a bevel cut in that direction. Those are my complaints and where I feel they dropped the ball. Could live with the fence as I rarely do bevel cuts, at least until now anyways, if that's how I have to cut 5 1/4"+ material for a miter. Nice saw otherwise.

Re: Milwaukee 10" 18v Cordless Miter Saw - Under $500
I got the saw a while back but haven't taken it out of the box yet. I saw one on display at my local hardware store and played around with it a little bit. Am I missing something, or does the angle lock not hold very well? I was able to move the saw left and right after supposedly being locked.

The issue we are discussing is that when you move the mitre to the right you don't get the vertical clearance to cut anything over 3" (approximately). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
