Laser Level

Hey Guys, I've got a Bosch laser level that I really like. I'm a handyman, do lots of hanging curtains, photos whatever. Tons of stuff I use this thing for. It saves tons of time but there is one thing about it that costs me time. Getting it set up.

Here's my question: Is anyone making a self-leveling laser that can be adjusted without moving the device itself. Mine can go on a tripod, It can clamp on to things. I can get it close and pull a measurement but what I'm looking for is something I could just set down in the middle of the room that would project a line to any height in the room I choose. Even if it's expensive I'd make the money back in no time with saved time.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks!

Re: Laser Level

I get what you're saying but you would still have to adjust the thing to the height you wanted it at...

I would be interested to see if one exists but I dont think one does. You might have some luck with mounting your laser on a telescoping pole.

Re: Laser Level

Laser Jamb and a 360 self leveling laser.

Preferably a green laser, I recommend the Beiter Bart 3DG

Re: Laser Level

I do not use my laser jamb often any more but when I do it is such a nice tool . It is a pain to pack around and there is some set up time but once up it is so worth while .

Use mine a few times a week.

I have the original style form 1988. It was Tools of the Trades tool of the year. Nothing like the ones they sell today.

One of those tools, improving it ruined it. I know a few guys who haver the "improved" ones. They suck compared to mine.

No set up, just take it out of the carrying bag and set it in place.

If I remember I'll get some pics of it.

Mine is clear anodized aluminum. I saw it in Tools of the Trade, went up to Berlands House of Tools to pick one up, at the same time I bought my first laser.

It was an extremely expensive trip, I made the mistake of taking my wife with me. Lunch at Hooters (my first time in Hooters, wifes idea) then Woodfield Mall so she could go shopping....

Kelly was a Hooters Girl all through law school. Made a ton of money.

(obviously Kelly gets her looks from her mother, not sure where she got her brains from)
