Re: Jointer And Planer For The Shop.

Jointer is to small for my uses, the planer looks like a Delta 15" and is a good little machine. Some rust on the table?

If that's a Delta DC33 planer, it's worth 700 bucks alone. Nice machine.

Nice buy! You can always sell a good buy later on if you need to upgrade. I'm sure you'll put them to good use.

Re: Jointer And Planer For The Shop.

The jointer is about as big as I wanted to go for the space in the shop. The Planer is a 15" Delta, DC380. It does have some light rust on it, but not bad.

Re: Jointer And Planer For The Shop.

Not a bad price TBF,.... once you clean up the surface rust coat it with Boeshield....great product.

Are you using a DC system......? That planner will fill up that area with the chips pretty quick if your not using one.

Re: Jointer And Planer For The Shop.

that should work out for you TBF.....

I see some of the serious "OLD" arn guys running 24" planners without a DC......although it wasn't invented back in the late 1880's-1900.....and the planners had no dust plenum.....ZIP....

They run them wide open with piles and piles of the wood chips....

but,

we all have our own way and if they don't mind then I guess it doesn't matter....

I wouldn't be able to deal with it........

Let us know how she runs .....

B,

Re: Jointer And Planer For The Shop.

I have not done anything with them yet except order new knives for each, a set of magnetic planer knife setting jigs, some 4" dust collection stuff and the dust shroud for the planer.

I did play with the jointer and a 2x4 while in-between coats of finish on a stain sample board... I think it will serve me well. Making doors and face frames will be easier with flat stock.
