Re: Job Site Trailers, Show Off Your Set Ups!

Wow, my trailer made the Tools of the Trade year in review! Pretty cool considering the other items featured were new products and Ron Paulk's setup...

Never thought I was in a league with Ron Paulk, dang, still don't think I am but the write up is cool.

Saw that earlier and remembered seeing it here, just was too lazy to figure out whose it was.
Congratulations.

Ok, that makes sense, not something you typically see in an everyday trailer. I was just looking for an excuse to buy more hammers...but alas I do not have a racing cart.

Re: Job Site Trailers, Show Off Your Set Ups!

Just picked up my new 6x10 for $3500 after tax and registration.

am i going to have problems if I use the left side for all the tools and leave the right side open? Gonna guess 350lbs in tools as generous number.

I'd split the weight between sides.

I also think your way under estimating tool weight.

You're probably right. I'd say 550-600 is more accurate...

Guess il have to put some shelving on the right side.

I weighed my small trailer the other day, and tools alone came to 1500lbs. That was the bare necessities, with the largest tool being a mitre saw.

I'm sure you have far more tools than me but the load capacity of the trailer is max 2000lbs.

Never the less my tool collection only gets larger with successful business. (Hopefully, but first I have to pay off the trailer)

My original plan was the 2' workbench/storage on the left with the miter saw and table saw right over the axle and leave the other side open. Do you think it would balance it enough to build maybe 15" deep shelving on the opposing wall and store all the ridgid cases I have of tools on that side with fasteners/materials?

I already cut up $110 in plywood for the original plan, so I don't really want to ditch the idea for that side...
