How Often Do You Clean Out Your Van/truck?

So I completly cleaned out my van this morning. Couldnt believe how much junk was in there. I use to do it once a week. but the last month i havent touched it. I had 22 partial bags of screws/nails. took out a contractor bag of garbage. also had a couple bucks in bottles. feels good that its all cleaned out now. just got to vaccum and load her up again.

how often do you clean your truck/van/trailer???

Re: How Often Do You Clean Out Your Van/truck?

i just did mine the other day, a few times a year i go through it. i work pretty clean, but the back seat gets cluttered up. part of the reason i went with a new setup/racks on the truck. more space in the bed and boxes and less crap on the back seat. i do miss my utility body but with 2 kids. i need to take them places when the wife is out. no room in the budget for a second work truck atm. the trailer gets used on larger jobs. i'm still working on getting that completely setup for efficiency

I re-organize (have one of my men do it) my trailer at the start of every new job, depending on how clttered up it is. I try to work very clean and efficiently, the trailer is well organized with every tool having a place and a set of drawers for odds and ends (small hand tools, staples paslode nails and gas, etc).

Outside of the truck gets washed every friday. Inside truck vacumed and wiped down about every 2 weeks.

Trailer gets swept and tools put away every day before the guys go home. The outside of the trailer about every two weeks gets washed.

Re: How Often Do You Clean Out Your Van/truck?

I used to clean the inside of my truck weekly. But for some reason I have really slacked off. I finally cleaned it out completely last weekend. I probably sucked up 2 bags of sunflower seeds from under the seats. My trailer gets cleaned up every day, unless its has a bunch of demo in it then gets cleaned after the dump.

Re: How Often Do You Clean Out Your Van/truck?

When all we did was framing (sigh) I used to clean it out after every job which was probably a month or so. Now that we are doing mostly remodels, it gets cleaned up at least once a week. Between scrap from small jobs and random specialty tools, it becomes a mess rather quickly.

I drove down the street with the van doors open last week. Cleaned out a bunch of stuff. If anyone finds a red tool box, on the hiway, it may be mine.

This post made me laugh out freakin loud.....I just came the house from, you guessed it, cleaning out the van. It's been about a month or so and it was filthy.

Re: How Often Do You Clean Out Your Van/truck?

normally once a week, ill usually empty out the truck on friday night unless im working saturday. all the tools come out as nothing is organized by end of week and so im not hauling around as much weight on the weekend when running errands. in the warmer months it gets vacuumed out and wiped down on the inside every couple weeks

when i first bought the truck last year i think i washed it 3 times in teh first two weeks, but lately is once a month or so.

I think it's been about 4 months now, not too sure where the floor or back seat are.
