Found A Cool Tool Site

Just found this site.

www.fastcap.com

there's some neat stuff under wood workers tools

folding chisel, folding awl, folding all kinds of stuff

there's also a reveal gauge that looked cool.

Hope I'm not the only one not to know about it.

You're a few years late to the party!

I find most of their stuff to be cheaply made plastic. They do have a few products that are OK. The 2P10 instant adhesive is the only thing I get from fastcap. However, their customer service is great.

Re: Found A Cool Tool Site

Fast cap products are all great in theory.. but not made so well. All the tape measures I ever got didn't last long. Or the built in pencil sharpeners didnt work from day one.

I do like the screw caps, wax kits, there scribe, outlet trim for cutouts in cabinetry and 2p10 jel. I use that stuff quite regularly.

I have 2 of the tapes the sharpener works great. But on my fast cap pro scribe the sharpener broke first day. They do have alot of cool stuff.

I agree "you get what you pay for"

I though the folding chisel and all might be alright for the tool pouch.
Not for anything "fine finish". Also the reveal jig would be quicker than
a combo-square.

Any better referrals ???? for online suppliers....

Re: Found A Cool Tool Site

I have used a few of their products.
The folding chisels are a great idea for the ones you keep in your pouch/toolbox. The handle is sturdier than I would have expected.
I really like the flushmount bit system for cabinets.
The flatback tape is handy if you are building arched or elliptical forms.
The scribe just seems kind of clunky to me. Maybe it takes getting used to. This looks pretty damn slick, ( http://thingamejigtools.com/shop/scribing-tool/ ) but I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet.

I thought that was worth a look also, I like scribing with lead not
a blade though, One oops and oops goes you profit

bought one after reading this thread, it works great, yes the idea of using the blade to mark the surface instead of a pencil is unnerving at first, but you get used to it. you need to be careful not to "ninja star" it into other surfaces when you use it. its a quality made product form the brief time i have been using it. i used it to scribe stainless steel laminate base boards [kicks] for a kitchen install and it did as advertised.

I like their screw caps and the accuscribe. Been using their third hands for years. Would love to add a best fence to my dewalt stand and a saw hood for my wet saw

use their fastedge, fastcap, doublesided tape, thirdhand props, and foldout chisel, never had an issue with the quality of the product.

I have bought Pauls book about the Fastcap journey into LEAN and its a great resource.Very handy resource to have if looking at ways into streamlining your business to be more productive, which in turn delivers a better product and better bottom line as a result.

Just wished that freight wasnt so expensive as i too would like a Bestfence system for my dewalt stand and some sheets of kaizen foam.
