Drill Holsters

Hi guy.

How do you carry Impact drivers. Dewalt 20v. Makita 18v. Hilti 22. Bosch etc... Not 12v.
I recently bought almost every option out there to discover they haven't been updated in like 20 yrs and or they only fit 12v.

I almost alway have an impact with ne with unless I'm framing. There always falling off with only the belt clip once you get moving.

Currently wearing Oxi light framers and jam it in left side faster bag but gets hung up and pops the chaulk line obove or just struggle in/ out. Picked up Oxi fat lip fasteners pouch. Dam there beautiful. The wide mouth with leather ring is perfect to drop a small child in there but lil too long for my liking.. They made them 3- 4" longer then light framers....dam dam. I have oxi universal pouch g9019 coming any day now. From the dims it looks like should do the job and if it fits driver. It would be worn in rear between hammer and right side bag. Also got the Atlas 42 2v... Interesting , Nice but big and heavy. Has some good features but not my style.

Post pics. Even if it's home made. Thank you all in advance for the time.

Your Pal
City

Re: Drill Holsters

Yes they technically do not have a one. Guys that have them use gun hook attachment to hang there Impacts... Again move lil too much and they fall off.

Re: Drill Holsters

I use the Bigg Lugg hook but I had to sew up a special holder because the belt clip doesn't fit on a 3" Oxi belt.

I keep it right behind one of my side bags and I can tuck it under the bag when I'm not using it so it doesn't catch on something.

Re: Drill Holsters

Makita TD171 I keep on my back pocket with the belt clip when not wearing bags. Looks stupid but works for me and doesn't get knocked off like when it's on a side pocket. If I'm wearing bags, then I have a narrow outer pocket with a reinforcement on the right side that holds the impact driver well off the belt clip. These are some really cheapo nylon bags that I've modded and not Occi's or anything like that. Hasn't fallen out yet...knock on wood.

Re: Drill Holsters

I hang my Milwaukie 20v off the front hammer loop on my Oxy lights. It works pretty well, though does tend to pop off if I kneel down too far.

I'd be interested in a good solution as well. They all hang too back heavy, or dont hold a gun any better than just sticking it in your bag, which is what I do with the 12v.

Re: Drill Holsters

When I chatted with Connor from diamond back he said it's too hard to get the Impact to fit properly in holster. So back to what I mentioned further up the Post. All the holsters in the market are made for 12v or have not been updated in 20 yrs. Dewalt makes a holster specific for Impacts. I tried and could barely fit 20v. I think the only solution is to add a bag or similar to what is in the pic or get the fatlip bag's which fit the 20v like a dream and zero drag or snag getting in/out but too dam long at 13 ". I wish they would of made the the fat lip in same length/ ht as the lights. That would just be perfect. For some reason oxi , Atlas made the wider lip but had to add 3-4" of length to bag. Who the hell need a bag that Long. I have the universal oxi bad coming also found others on Amazon which looks decent in leather for 20.00

Oxi makes this which looks nice but only for right side. I ask them if there was a left they said no one has ever asked about it. The other is the one I mentioned for 20.00 on Amazon

Don't like the idea of a strap. Also most drill holsters are for right handers. Which sucks.

Re: Drill Holsters

I have a Dewalt holster I bought for my 18V Makita drill/driver.
The drill driver tends to fall out but the 18V Makita impact driver fits perfectly.

I'll see if I can get the part #.
