Perhaps Rigid is better than Ridgid?

They're hit and miss... I've had a big corded impact for 10 or 11 years I never even think about it, it just always works. Their worm drive is a really great saw, their table saw is sweet, and my 15ga cordless nailer is awesome.

Dewalt sawzalls. Went through 3 in a two day period. They refused to warranty the third at blowes. Sent the wife in and she got the refund. Bought a piece of chit Kobalt one with a 5 year warranty. Can't kill the thing lol. I despise Kobalt but for some reason the saw works. Cheap too, got the display model for like $60

Have to agree with the DeWalt sawzall. If I didn't already have the batteries I wouldn't buy them.
One thing I do like is the 4 way blade holder. I haven't seen it on any others. I assume DeWalt has a patent. For a while. Won't be long, someone will copy it.

Re: Do Not Buy And Heres Why......Worthless Tools And Those Who Make Them.

I have a cheap 49 dollar Dewalt Sawzall that just keeps on going. I too really like the 4 way blade holder. Sure, it is a bit under powered, but it is light and small enough to fit in tight spaces.

The battery ones work fine as well for what they are.

I would love to get a monster Super Sawzall with orbiting action and lots of bells and whistles, but I haven't been able to kill the Dewalt.

Ryobi angle grinder. Bought it because I needed a third for a project. It was cheap and boy do you get what you pay for. Lots of vibration and no torque feels cheap because it is.

As much as I love my Milwaukee stuff... I bet their compound mitre saw stand would make the dewalt feel like a festool.

Shame, because I love the saw itself.

Re: Do Not Buy And Heres Why......Worthless Tools And Those Who Make Them.

Well IMO most of todays tool mfgs have sold out. Most of it is disposable crap from Tiawan or China now.

Milaukee the older U.S.A mfg tools were built to last. ( sawzalls, drills) Now built in China. Milwaukee Fuel cordless stuff is well marketed and works ok but I have had trouble with failing switches, the drill chucks won't hold small bits tight, and the original 18V batteries sucked.

Porter Cable, I've never seen a tool company turn a quality reputation for long lasting pro duty tools ( especially routers, belt sanders and the mag circ saws) into garbage so quickly, what a shame...

DeWalt, again imo a great marketing co. Most tools mfg China or Tiawan The only DeWalt tools I like are the miter saws and the portable 10" table saw. My new DW 716XPS (China) the castings are rough and the fence is tilted back out of 90* from the table front to back? no adjustment its' in the machining, very dissapointed! Their routers are ok, the rest they can keep. I also have a Dewalt radio a client gave me as a present and it sucks!

Bosch, another quality tool mfg that sold out. Their cordless line I wont even look at anymore. Their routers, rotary hammer drills and the axial glide miter saw, and table saw and some sandeers are ok, But the benchmark Bosch jigsaws we broke in with now suck! nothing like the old Swedish made 1582VS

Makita, yes some is built in China now. But they seemed to have maintained higher quality standards than the other mfgs... I have less problems with Makita tools than any other brand. The castings on the new miter saws is beautiful. The Makita cordless 18 volt brushless LXT tool line is converting me over from the Milwaukee fuel line. I think they are better built and the Makita batteries charge fast and last long. When I have both Milwaukee and Makita cordless kits out on a job I always find myself reaching for the Makita first. Better feel with the switches and ergos in the hand...

Rigid, owned by TTI China same as Milwaukee. Cordless line is similar to Milwaukee. I guess if your on a budget some of the tools are ok and offer a good warranty. I love their shop vacs. I'd buy Rigid over Porter Cable today.

my 2c on power tools today, lots of worthless garbage out there today!
