I've never had one, so I don't know.

But out of the very limited ridgid I've got over the last few years, non of it lasted more then a few months.

I have a Ridgid vac that's at least 5 years old. About the only thing I'm happier with value-wise is my old Milwaukee sawzall.

Ridgid shop are sweet. They take a real beating, I can suck up concrete chunks no problem. I have some ridged stuff and they've held up good especially the worm drive.

FWIW...all the plumbers I know use rigid threaders. The shop vacs are a beast. (but bulky and loud!)

Rigid 12" compound slide, Recip saw, and skil saw, worst 'pro grade' I've ever used.

imo

Ridgid handtools and Ridgid powertools arent in the same league. We have AEG here which is identical to Ridgid and sold as an intermediaery between ryobi and milwaukee

Didn't Ridgid get its name in pipe wrenches? Then it moved into the power tool category.

I have some ridgid corded power tools and they've worked fine for me. But I'm not brutal on my tools either. I take care of my stuff.

Now, for their cordless drills, etc, I have to say I've not been impressed at all. I ended up returning them.

I have one of their shop vacs and it is a good shop vac.

Any of their other tools I buy only when I want something cheep because I don't use it often and plan to beat on it same with most modern hitachi power tools. They both have good warranties and are cheep to buy if you don't use it every day

There's a like new 14.4 Ridgid drill with 2 dead batteries with bag and a charger that always sounds like the engine from a commuter jet winding up out in the garage - been there for years.

Right next to a Ryobi 5 piece 14.4 set, also dead and like new.

On the other hand, I know I can still get replacement jaws for that 3 ft Ridgid pipe wrench, or the old manual pipe threader.

I have no business with disgusting plumbing equipment.
I was referring to Ridgid power tools.
