DeWalt Laser / Johnson Mount Mod

I bought the Johnson Pro laser mount a few months ago but it wasn’t convenient to use with my laser and more importantly, I wanted to reorganize my van and to utilize a Milwaukee case for many of my tools.

On the mount, I removed the 90 degree mount and installed a metal bar (repurposed from a tow bar kit). The adjustment knob was too large for the case, so I installed a different one.

The Kaizen foam is going into the case next, but the mount, laser and accessories now fit into one case.

How precisely can you adjust the laser? Does the knob work well?

I didn't know they made mounts like that but I had an idea on something similar using a couple crown bolts with a couple nuts to adjust plumb and a piece of 1" square stock to slap the magnet on the back to.
Then I actually used it and just got a tripod with its own bubble level.

Nice mod. I use the same laser and mount. I may do the same.

the knob works well, I used a dab of adhesive when installing so it wouldn't spin. At the base of the knob is another knob that adjusts the drag and on the left side there is a knob to lock the slide down.
