I saw a 13-piece kit for $40, 9 hole saw sizes. It was the $80 kit for half off.

That set only came with 1 battery. It's still a very good deal though. Last year the set I got was the black and white drill, one 1.5ah battery, and charger for the same price. The charger is a cheaper grade though in that it is 30/60 minutes and does not have a fan or sing me a song when it's done charging.

This is how they're going to clear out all the old packs. I had a feeling there would be a lot of free battery promos coming up.

Here's my haul from HD. The 18vX2 saw is full price at $229 but comes with a free 2 pack of 3.0's. I might have to go back today to see if they still have the 2 gallon homer buckets. They seem real handy and are very cheap.

It was actually a special kit designed for Black Friday. I did a double take when I saw it and grabbed one so is have a spare. Then I realized they had taken two of the hole saws out and put two extra bits in to keep 13 pieces. I asked the Milwaukee rep what the deal was and she said no comment.

Good haul minus the Avanti blades. When they were Freud they were decent, but I had one throw 2 tips without even hitting a nail or anything. At $10 its cheap, but just understand they are short life throw aways.

You may even notice that certain tools will actually perform better. Some of the 1.5aH batteries cannot maintain the amp draw under load and will actually provide lesser performance compared to a 2.0, 3.0 or 4.0 aH battery.

This has been true of my 12v/18v bosch tools and I'm sure it carries over to other manufacturer designs.

Dunno if I'm too late to reply, but definitely go with an used previous generation bosch jigsaw if you're looking for very good quality at a very good price. They're made in Switzerland

Look for the 1590evs (dhandle) or 1591evs (barrel) on Craigslist. I've grabbed a couple beater jigsaws that we're practically new for 50-60 bucks.

I still have an older 1590. Mine is pretty beat up, but it was a great saw.

Re: Black Friday: What's Everyone Looking To Get?

I've actually delegated one of my Bosch jigsaws for cbu sheets in bathroom remodels. I find it's more convenient than my heavy makita cbu saw which is basically a full size sidewinder with sealed bearings and a huge dust shroud.

I've been waiting for it to die so I can get something nicer...but it's still ticking...

Re: Black Friday: What's Everyone Looking To Get?

It was Black Saturday in my case but:

I decided to pick up the $79 Kobalt 7 1/4 slider - I wasn't expecting much but after making a few test cuts when I got home it seems alright. No adjustments required out of the box but it's loud for 9 amps. Laser isn't even close, I actually took the batteries back out so no one would try to use it and screw up a cut. Stock 40 tooth blade sucks, put on a 60 tooth DeWalt and it did well. May pick up a 60 tooth Diablo next time I'm in the hardware store and think about it. Diablo blade on a $79 saw, that's kind of funny when you think about it. It will be nice for punch list projects but I wouldn't want it for my only saw.

Got the Delta miter saw stand that Lowes had on sale for $149. Put my old 12" Porter Cable 3802 miter saw on it. I'm happy with it but I made a 60 pound saw into a 100 pound monstrosity. At least it has wheels.

Got the last 2 Stanley tapes that were in the bin for $4.98. Didn't need them but can't beat that price.

All in all got by pretty cheap.

Since when did "need" have anything to do with it?

Re: Black Friday: What's Everyone Looking To Get?

I got the hole hawg the day it was released awesome tool, My supplier had the quick connect adapter on mine. I took it and used it. I decided for versatility reasons I wanted the actual chuck. My electrician asked if he could try it, 2 hours later he called and paid me what I had in it, awesome tool. Can't wait for my new one to get here.
