Best Staple Guns ?

I currently own the Bostitch Grand Slammer and have had nothing but problems with it jamming up. Prior to this staple hammer, I owned the Bostitch H2B and after many years of good service to me, they started to do nothing but jam up. Does anyone rebuild their own staple hammers? Or do you just buy new ones? I just broke down and cleaned all three guns and the problem seems to be even worse now.

What staple hammer do you feel is the best on the market, can hold two sleeves of staples, and doesn't jam up or smash your fingers? I look forward to hearing your recommendations.

I have the same one you do. I've had good luck with mine, no real issues. I've only used mine for roofing and house wrap and I don't do a lot of either so the gun doesn't get a lot of use.

I use to have a H2B too, got so mad at it jamming throw it away on one job. Have an Arrow HTX50 now so far work good. Is made with a foot so doesn't tear paper and handle is made so you are not slapping the deck all the time.

I used to really like the Duofast staplers.
Built well, heavy, sunk the staples in well.

Often found with carpet tools, not with the T50 stuff...

It took me a while to find a good stapler. The one I am using right now is the DeWalt DWHTTR350 Heavy Duty.

Ive found that bostitch works best when using bostitch stapels. Had a smaller one last for years til it finally t o s . Replaced with grip rite...3 months later got another bostitch,,,2 months later got a Hitachi.... that one is still going. Place where I bought bostitch told me they are finicky when using other brand stapels. Hitachi is great ( so far , 4 month)

Re: Best Staple Guns ?

I've had the problem with jamming with different brands of staples, I don't usually use them enough to wear them out quickly, so by the time I fond out what lasts, you can get it any more....

I don't rebuild, I throw them out. I would think you'd need a rebuild kit with the wear parts - maybe they make these, but for the price of a new one I'm not looking for a kit.

I like the Grip-rites or the Stanleys. I just use them till they die, then buy a new one.

Re: Best Staple Guns ?

I asked the same question here and Carpentershane recommended I try the Rapid R211 by so I did. I ordered one from my local ABC supply co (formerly Bradco) and have to say it is the best hammer tacker I have ever used, and it uses standard T-50 staples. All my Arrows will be sold at my next garage sale.
