Re: Best Rotary Laser 2019

Honestly, I was going down the road of the topcon until I realized they had an upgraded receiver and started looking closer at all brands receivers. With the receiver upgrade the base level topcon was getting closer to $1000 without any tripod or grade rod.

One thing that talked me off the Hilti cliff was commiting to upgrade my 3 axis line laser with the new Hilti pm40 g. They really did a great job with this tool and Iíd Rather Save $1000 on the rotary to buy it.

Re: Best Rotary Laser 2019

Is this where you position the receiver clamp on the rod slide? Makes no sense to position it in the middle as you canít see as many numbers.

Re: Best Rotary Laser 2019

I don't use the numbers on the rod. I use benchmarks and shoot from there. Sometimes I'll use my tape on the rod and make marks for varying elevations.

What I like is the slide mechanism. Makes adjusting much easier.

Put the reciever on the other side. It's designed to face away from you while looking at the back side, the face of the reciever is towards the laser.

You can pull the cap and turn the slide to the other side.

Re: Best Rotary Laser 2019

Cali, have you used this laser on its side to square your decks? Practiced it at home the other night and Iím going to give it a try soon, just a 12x28 deck.

I don't have your model. I have the Lar200 for horizontal leveling only.

I didn't go with anything else due to the fact you can't see the line outside without a reader or reciever.

But the biggest factor was I got a 1300 dollar laser for free. During deck days at my yard they give you 100 bucks in credit for every thousand you spend on Trex products during the month. I spent 15 thousand that month.
