I'm looking for a free battery or extra tool only deal. I want to try out the brushless models, but it seems that I can get a much better deal with the standard models.

JUNK TOOLS ARE MADE IN CHINA.MAY 7, 2012

I have been using many brands and wanted to upgrade to the brushless combo set. I bought this set last week and took it home checked and tested. I found both the impact and drill having wobbling issues. When both are spinning they tend to wobbling too much bits were not stay centered. I was so disappointed with this new combo. The triggers on both kinda cheap made plastic. Overall, the quality was not up to the old Makita's standard. This set is a total junk. Don't buy it. It will go back to HD.

I picked up my brushless set today. Both drill and impact only say assembled in the USA. My older Makita LXT set were made in China.

Interestingly, this HD store had 15 sets, none on display. I was told that they don't have the theft alarms for them yet, so you have to ask for them. The free battery promotion goes on through July.

Unscientifically, it seemed like the brushless impact was heavier then the old impact, and the brushless drill seemed lighter.

I have 1200 sq. ft. of ipe to install starting next week, so I will have a pretty good guage as to how the brush vs. brushless compare.
