Can You Fix This Door Lock?

This door locking system is broken. Can't find the maker of the lock system. Asked several contractors - they don't know the maker either.

Can anyone fix this door? I need to get the lock replaced with the same lock.

I'm with house bldr. Looks like an andersen 3-point lock system. Try a lumberyard before Lowe's or the Depot.

Almost certainly an Andersen 3 point lock.

It's definitely not an Andersen product.

Try Strybuc or http://www.allaboutdoors.com/

Re: Can You Fix This Door Lock?

I'm located in Palm Beach.

There is no name on the lock. It is a 3 point locking system.

I called locksmiths and they said they don't know how to repair it. Tried calling the people who sold the lock to us (not the manufacturer) and they said the manufacturer doesn't make it anymore. Not sure if that's true.

Thanks for all your replies. At least I have a starting point.

Look inside the door jamb on the hinge side for a stamp, if its an anderson you can confirm it by finding the logo on the glass.

Found this, lists several companies who have 3-point locks.

Try another locksmith. There are three general types of locksmiths:

1) Those that have been in the trade for a long time, and may have learned from their father. They are proud to be locksmiths

2) Morons who responded to the ad they read in their mothers basement, during a commercial on the Ellen Show.

3) Morons who took a technical vocation class while in prison.

Re: Can You Fix This Door Lock?

There are several door companies using similar three point locks. Try a high end hardware supplier. There should be a manufacturer stamp somewhere on that thing. I had a similar issue recently with a Loewen door. My local hardware vendor (where we get cabinet hardware, locksets, etc.) was able to find parts for me.

Re: Can You Fix This Door Lock?

I would also call a storefront door company, they deal with similar high quality installations often

Contact the manufacturer directly. If they don't make that lock anymore, they may have a similar replacement OR replacement parts OR know where the last one might be hiding in the warehouse.

Felons aren't eligible for the required bonding.
(at least in NYS)

I was making a joke regarding the lameness of so-called locksmiths. Now I can start making jokes about the lame lack of sence of humor exhibited by Cable Guys (except for Larry)
