I agree, Kirk. Productivity really tends to drop off in those last couple hours, especially on days 3 & 4.

Maybe worth it if you're an employee and don't have to worry about profitability... :

When I was a commercial super and before that as a foreman, myself and my guys worked 6 12's pretty regular, and one summer only took four Sundays off After 12, now matter how many days in, asses start dragging. Our profitability went IP, even paying over time of we worked 5 12's, so my boss said anyway. 6 12's started slipping, seven your being crazy. Of course he didn't care because he wasn't the one riding their asses. As a super I still wore my bags more than half the time because the guys were behind, and if one crew worked Saturday and the other Sunday, I stayed for both trying to be a good boss.

My crew now is like Cole 82s, I ask them to work a little late and they roll up at 430. Except the painters. They want to work all the time. No, seriously, I rarely have themwork more than 45 a week a unless they want the money, productivity does slide, because I don't ride their asses like an overseer like I did when I was worming commercial, trying to hit hard deadlines.

I've ordered those 32 hour days, but they were back ordered once again.

I heard about a crew that proposed the 4 10 hour days to the boss. He cited the profitability thing and said he thought they should do 7 6 hour days instead.

About 12 wee sips of coffee make the day go by faster. That and lots of Advil.

It's ridiculous, but I've used fingerpaint; far cheaper than lipstick, but in fewer hues.

Thats actually why we started using it, all the old timers always have petro jelly in their belts. I always thoughtit was cause they were old and dry, that is until we had a massive line of offset cans to cut in and we tried it. Worked great and been doing it ever since.......Plus no chafing!

Work every Saturday and send the family on vacation by themselves.
Your wife will divorce you but the job gets done quicker.
