Came out nice! Paint 'em tan, and it'd be like I was at the dunes!

Re: Modular Arts Panels- We Got A Few To Install!

Hope you get some pics after painting. I have been looking at these for over a year, hoping to find a designer who will use them. I know I could make these look so good with the right paint.

Re: Modular Arts Panels- We Got A Few To Install!

I will post some final pics after paint and touch ups- we are installing the FRP Marlite panels in there next week and still have to finish up the trim by the Dune panels as soon as the designer finally decides what she wants..

I felt the same thing before I started, and in the long run I actually made some money on the job!

Looks great. Too bad you didn't have some time lapse photography thing going on this.

Re: Modular Arts Panels- We Got A Few To Install!

Thanks! - The Panels are all painted and finished, although, against the manufacture's directions and my pleading, the owner of the restaurant had the painter use a semi-gloss paint on them. He felt that they would be too hard to clean if they were painted in a flat, as the company urges. So, the panels in the front of the place catch the daylight coming in from the windows and some of the vertical seams are slightly visible. The seams are almost invisible on the panels on the big wall in the rear of the place as thee is no side light affecting them.
At night they all look fantastic, especially with the light from the spots above- I am waiting till the place is cleaned up to take some nice pics-

Semi-gloss is a bit too much, you'll see the most miniscule flaw. You can get flats that are washable but may not be washable enough for a restaurant (those places get FILTHY!), eggshell, satin, matte even. If the seams were barely visible with semi-gloss, they very well may have disappeared with eggshell or satin.

I like the sandy dune idea, or you could get crazy and do multiple shades of blue / green and turn it into an ocean!

Might even be enough texture to do dark washes, but I can't imagine trying to contain that kind of mess.

Re: Modular Arts Panels- We Got A Few To Install!

I forgot to put up some of the finished pics- The semi gloss paint really made this a challenge in the end- I had to painstakingly retouch all of the panels several more times
The owner of the restaurant is super happy. I still can see some of the seems when the light is right (or wrong) which luckily is in the morning when the sun comes blaring in from the front windows. The restaurant is only open for lunch and dinner.
I have since done 2 more Modular Arts Panel jobs and am bidding another as I write this.
