A Little Project I'm Working On


The two curved pieces around the stairs were each made out of 56 1/8" strips at my shop, the rest of the floor was done on site. The field is made out of 3 1/2" white oak rift and quartered. The rest of the first floor is 2600' of 4".

It took two of us 3 full days to install the 300' foyer, not including the time i had into making the curved pieces.. The job is currently sanded and 2 coated, waiting on doing the final coat

Looks like you got the bent laminations spot on from the picture. Nice job. Did you have to steam them to get them to make that tight radius?

I didn't have to steam, but we were breaking about 1 out of 3 strips as we were finishing the tightest part.
