Re: Your First Concert ?

This one is real embarrasing but it really does count as my first concert, i was probably 7 or 8 and my older sister was going to a concert, and the whole familt escorted her. My First Official Concert wasBOBBY SHERMAN, GMOD.

Re: Your First Concert ?

The James Gang sometime in the late 60's @ the Cleveland arena.

Hard to say what concert I liked the best, but the Rolling Stones in Berlin, Germany were pretty good back in '73. My girlfriend from Yugoslavia couldn't understand why they were special, she didn't like it. Billy Preston was the lead off band.

Saw some great jazz concerts at Oberlin college in the summer of '74 or '75 that were all free, Herbie Hancock, The Dave Brubek Band, Billy Combham & others I can't remember.

I know....

But seriously, when I was a kid, I asked my dad who was on the radio....
"Guess who."
"Who?"
"No. Guess Who."
"I'm trying but I don't know."
"Yes you do, it's The Guess Who."

Mahavishnu Orchestra at the Felt Forum in Madison Square Garden 1973 (?). My oldest sister was in college and my other sister was supposed to go with her but changed her mind because she never heard of them. Big adventure for me, I hopped on a bus to get there, I was 14 or 15.

Re: Your First Concert ?

Don't have much to offer as a reward.... but I'll hit the "THANKS" button if someone can top this for embarrassment.

The Famous Pat and Debbie Boone Show circa 197too old to want to go and too young to stay home.
You could hear a pin drop when they started into... "YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE... YOU GIVE ME HOPE..."

Next "big" act was Grateful Dead 82 in Hartford CT
