Right on brother! 100% cold turkey cut-off. My opininon is if you're weak enough to have 1, you're weak enough to start back up.

Re: You Might Call Me A Quitter......

It took me several attempts to quit all my tobacco addictions. The only thing that finally worked was completely stopping everything. The first few days were the worst but it slowly got better.
Even now, after many years of abstinence, I occasionally have a wisp of thinking that might lead me to use tobacco. Fortunately, it is rare and I hope to never go back. It really is a day at a time sometimes. Good luck

Re: You Might Call Me A Quitter......

you'll be able to do this with no problems. Noone talks about this, but this campaign against tobacco is about the biggest thing that has happened in my lifetime.

My daughter is 4 years old and I don't think she has seen anyone smoking.

It has really been a culture changer.

Bullsh!t

I'm calling your bluff because you don't have the self control necessary to quit and you aren't that serious. From what you type I can tell instantly that you really don't want to quit but a small part of you is telling you that you should for the sake of yourself and family...but at the end of the day you don't want to because you enjoy it.

I went through the same thing, I'll quit at the end of the pack, I'll start my diet on Monday, after Christmas, next month.

Bullsh!t

If you were the least bit serious, even the slightest bit serious you would take the last few smokes in the pack and toss them in the trash.

None of this crap about waiting until the end of the pack, because you will never get there, you will go get another pack and quit at "the end" of it.

I'll bet you dollars to stale donuts if you don't throw out that last few right now you will fail.

I don't offer support, I can just tell ya what I've experienced...every year my eyes get worse, my hearing gets worse, my taste decreases...but my ability to smell bull**** becomes slightly more acute.

Cool

Re: You Might Call Me A Quitter......

Pick a date and stick to it.
When the new millinium rolled around, I decided not to go into it as a smoker. Try as I did, still could not kick.
Then one day I was on my way to visit Dad and Mom, there was a billboard with the words "Prayer Changes Things".
I tried it and low and behold, it gave me the strenght to quit. I don't even remember craving it. Done, Cold Turkey.
That was July 7, 2000. First it was 1 day, then 1 week, then 1 month, then 1 year. After a while it was 7 years on 7.7.7. This year on 7.7.12 it will be 12 years.
Good luck. It is possible. Respect yourself and your body. It's the only one you will ever get.
