Xbox ONE Or PS4?

Any of you younger guys(or older ones too) have the next gen systems? I have a 360 now, was thinking about getting an X-ONE but on the fence. I don't play too much now, comes and goes in waves. I played Skyrim everyday for 2 months after work for an hour or so and haven't touched it in 6 months.

There's an Xbox bundle right now with the new Assassin's Creed games for $350. If you buy a new system till 06/27, BB or Amazon will throw in an additional game as well, all the new titles are included as options.

Like all of us, my time is limited to play around but I don't mind not beating a game in 4 days like I did when I was 10. Do you guys who have upgraded like the new system? Glad you got it or a waste of money?

Re: Xbox ONE Or PS4?

I haven't upgraded yet but I'd be leaning towards the XboxOne, personally. I was a PlayStation fan during my childhood but have decided I prefer the Xbox controller in my "adulthood".

I guess for me it just comes down to the controller shape. I guess that's not very helpful for you.

Some weeks I play an hour a day, some months I don't even turn it on. It's pretty much just a Call of Duty and Netflix machine for me.

No...this actually makes sense. I had PS1, 2 & 3 before I ever bought an Xbox of any kind. The PS controller was always second nature, but having used the 360 one, not sure if I'd ever want to switch back.

Why are you thinking about upgrading? I don't really know much about the new systems.

My 360 started acting funky and I was thinking about upgrading but then it sorted itself out and I returned to being content with it.

I'm STILL rocking a PS2 :-D
I'm on the fence about getting a PS3 or 4.
The 3 has an amazing line up, but the 4 is... Well, shiny and new.
I don't play all that often anymore, but having the system hooked up to the TV would be nice.

All games going forward will only be coming to the next gen systems. I'm a fan of some of the games coming soon...most notably Fallout 4.

PS2 was my favorite system after the SNES. That thing was awesome!

Why not go spend some money on a motor and pull it apart? Games are for when youre waiting in the Dr's office.

Because I spent $200 on this machine and two games and I can talk to my kid brother in college while we play together.

But actually, once I finish the shop I'm starting for myself in July I'll also have an old Jeep to pull apart.

So why not both?

Guess it depends on how you'd like to spend your post work hours before bed. On long, hot summer days I'm fried by dinner time, just mentally drained. I usually suck down the first beer right away and collapse on the couch with the 2nd. If you have the energy(and workshop) to start disassembling small motors after roofing all day, by all means...

...but sometimes it's nice to turn your brain off.

I don't play like I used to when I was 12. Barely at all now, maybe once or twice a month. I actually picked up a nintendo 3ds and downloaded the old N64 games I used to play way back. Most are updated and its nice for playing casually.

Re: Xbox ONE Or PS4?

I play FPS on Xbox One. It's a nice system. It's not a wise way to spend time or money but what the hell... I play with my brother and two BIL's pretty much every Friday night. Have another BIL and a friend who sometimes play with us.

It's a fun few hours. I tell myself that one day I'll stop, because it is a waste of time, but it can be nice to just sit on the couch and chill.

As to the one vs the other, I hate the PS controller, so I have an Xbox. I'm sure either system is fine.

It came across as dickish, didnt mean it to. Its always hot in Fl so that part doesnt really bother me, I actually wouldn't do anything if it was cold.

Roofing though, you're right, no way I would do anything more than 12 oz curls. I bought a wii when it came out, played it for like a week, and got rid of it. I would just rather work on projects in my free time. To each their own, just was curious why video games instead of another hobby.

Not at all man. I have a bunch of other hobbies I neglect equally, lol

Kayaking, golf, running, snowboarding, etc.

Re: Xbox ONE Or PS4?

The Xbox One would be my choice. I think they do better with multiplayer games which I prefer for casual gaming. PS was always better at the story driven games but they're a huge timesink now. I don't have either.

After my 360 got the RROD I set up a htpc computer to run emulators for all the old systems. MAME and atari through PS1. It's plenty for me. Still playing Metal Slug and Super Mario Kart.

Re: Xbox ONE Or PS4?

If you have unlimited internet, the XBOX One is an option.

If you don't....DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT.

I bought one for my 9yr old and we quickly realized that we would have to deal with daily MANDATORY updates as large as 10 gig.
You are unable to play. (period)...unless you download the constant updates and hook up daily with Microsoft's site.
(In our Verizon broadband world that equals like $100.......a day, of data)

I traded it in for a PS4 and we are loving it.
Absolutely zero hassles and complete ability to play offline.....always and forever, if we choose.

I bought it for him.
(My last game system was a Sega Genesis that we crushed Madden and NHLPA on.........20+ years ago)
But, the shocker is that I am really enjoying too.
The Ferrari F12, that I drive in Need For Speed ...........is insane.

I much prefer PC games myself. The Steam Summer and Winter sales always tap my wallet.

I have both Xbox and Xbox one... Pretty much the only games I play are battlefield 4 and Rocksmith.

The other console is for my son in call of duty
