Re: Would You Purchase A Home With An Offensive Or Unattractive Street Name

If I never planned on reselling my home, yes I would buy a house if I found the corresponding property attractive.

Mainly because I'm a grown adult and words don't hurt me...

Re: Would You Purchase A Home With An Offensive Or Unattractive Street Name

I worked on one as the EC with a street name that was not offensive, but so backwards and screwed up that I would avoid buying it just because you would have to explain to everyone you gave your address to that you are really saying it right. He says he never gets a pizza delivered that is hot.

I obviously wont post the real address, but instead of 123 Main Street, it is similar to 123 Avenue Street DeJohn Northeast, Plainfield Illinois. (Apparently a French person named the street after talking to him)

No thanks.

Re: Would You Purchase A Home With An Offensive Or Unattractive Street Name

Several years ago when the county put in a county wide 911 system we people in the rural areas had our address changed from rural route numbers to a named or numbered street. There is a near by road that the locals always called possum holler road. That is the name that the county officially gave it when they installed the 911 system. It didn't take long for one woman that lives on that road to start going to all of the neighbors with a petition to change the name of the road. The funny thing is that nobody would sign it.

Haha if I wasn't stuck building houses, I would love to be naming streets. Who even has a job like that?! What would the official title be?
