We'll probably have some friends over. Pizza, beer, hot tub.

Re: Will You Be Celebrating The Arrival Of 2017?

My mom offered to watch my kid all day Saturday into Sunday so my wife and I could have a night out together.

The front runner for evening plan is to lie about going to a party, go home, and go to bed by 9, then sleep until 9 the next morning.

I'll be bringing my spare utility trailer home. After Christmas' long weekend I don't think I can sit home for another three days doing nothing. I started cleaning it with a grinder wire wheel. Gonna replace the fenders replace the boards in the floor and spray it black again. Along with new lights. It's gonna look so nice when it's finished.

Probably drink beer too.

Re: Will You Be Celebrating The Arrival Of 2017?

December 31 1992 ....Lisa and I had been dating about 2 months...We went to big new years eve party and I drinked a fifth of WT-101 and a 2 liter Sun drop and a few cold beers

We got back to my house at 7 a.m. and I was fine...by 7:30...I was on my way to a very painful death

She took care of me like a brand new girl friend in love

That night she asked me if I had a good time...I said hell yeah

She said good! If that was the way it was going to be, I needed a new girlfriend, she wasnt putting up with it

I took her for her word and hadnt been drunk or been to a new years party since

It's a milestone, but not really one I celebrate. I get philosophical and think about stuff to do differently, other things to work on, family, etc. I like it that way.

My wife made the same offer regarding our two grandsons, and the boy took her up on it. Dammit.

Gonna be odd waking up Jan 1 without a hangover.

I will celebrate in my usual way: Checking my eyelids for pinholes.

You can still whoop it up. Just be ready to explain why Grandpa is passed out on the floor in his underwear.

Was going to go to a hotel in Niagara falls but I'm not paying 7-8x the normal rate because it's new years.

Niagara Falls...that sounds like a sh!tty trip planed by a woman.

I plan on drinking, an activity I reserve for days that end in Y.

Re: Will You Be Celebrating The Arrival Of 2017?

We have 10 degree weather coming next week. I'll probably be spending the weekend wrapping pipes and preparing for it. Most likely won't feel like going out after crawling under the house all weekend. Our houses aren't exactly made for that kind of cold. Especially mine with an open foundation and such.

I'll probably do my normal thing. Drink a beer, drink a second one and fall asleep around 11. Besides, I need my rest in order to keep up with all this America getting Great and all that's coming up.

So last year....

We were all up in the County, where we grew up. Big house full of relatives, all parents. Wife and I snuck out for a while to a party down the street where old friends were meeting. Our kid was 2 months at this point and we hadn't been out with friends since he was born. She kept it cool, as she always does, I gave in to peer pressure and drank too much and performed the feats of strength with my high school buds. We get back to her parents' place down the street. Don't really remember how. I assume heavenly chariot of some sort. She probably drove.
In the middle of the night my smirking wife wakes me up to inform me that my son needs attention. This was my first experience changing a diaper and feeding a kid in the netherworld between exceedingly drunk and exceedingly hungover. A truly miserable experience that I vowed would never happen again.
It may well happen again tomorrow, but at least now he kind of listens when you tell him to sit still.

Re: Will You Be Celebrating The Arrival Of 2017?

Hibernation!

I think I could sleep the 4 days away completely. But I'll likely hunt for food like White Castle a few times.

I always like this weekend better than the Christmas one prior since there are always less plans.

When is the next holiday we can officially slack off?

July 4th?

Have a great new years all!
