I play hockey. It keeps me calm when I'm not on the ice.

Re: When I'm Not Working I..............................

What is this not working you are talking about?

On the rare occasions I am not working in the summer, I'll usually just chill at the house, watching movies and playing video games. If I can find a few buddies loose, I'll go shooting.

Lord knows, I have a zillion projects to work on. Boat needs a motor rebuild, Buick needs restored, garage needs cleaned out and made useable, trailer needs cleaned out, yard looks like a construction site threw up in it. Then the rental house we live in needs painted and reroofed and new gutters installed, etc, etc, etc.

Now that the weather is cooling off, I'll be getting some of that done, mostly the stuff that sounds like work unfortunately.

I did upgrade my photo gear this summer, so I am slowly getting motivated to get out and shoot some. Probably that will be today's fun.

Unfortunately, we recently were given a really nice couch, which makes chilling at home a lot more comfortable.

I sucked at golf. My dad tried to teach me, and I was so horrible, he has since stopped playing.

However, my great uncle on my mums side is somewhere around 90 years old. STILL plays 4, 18 hole rounds a week. He lives in Scotland, right on the course. Wakes up, drinks a scotch. Heads over to the club house... has another scotch. Plays 9.... has two scotch. Plays the other 9... another 2 scotch. Then he goes home... where he drinks more scotch and reads the paper, then goes to bed.

Sounds like the life, to me.

I got to visit Scotland St. Andrews with the family. The Scottish people have a great since of humor. We stayed in Edinburgh.

I almost played college golf. My first job as a kid was washing golf carts then I got on the grounds crew. My dream was to be the "pro" at a course and run the proshop. I was sixteen at that point. They wanted to cut back all our summer hours to about 30 so I quit. My grandpa got me a job hauling amish doing............construction work.

The rest is history.

Golf is fun. I only like it when I can do it often enough to keep my game dialed in. Haven't play much lately, don't have any friends that play. We ski.

Re: When I'm Not Working I..............................

84 lumber had a contractor golf outing,, I played with a manager and a district mgr,

My attention span sucks, I find it boring as hell also,,

After a couple holes my boredom got the best of me,, I ran into them with the cart,, kept doing it the rest of the day,,

We had to go to lunch and we had to go thru a tunnel so I really wadded them up and had them sideways in the tunnel,,

I kinda forgot the noise it would make,, I had the whole place come a running,, I just walked by the guys laughed at them , mingled into the crowd running into the tunnel and went to my truck,

Never played again,,

Oh the best part,, I was driving balls and my wife thought I enjoyed it, so for Christmas I gave her a hundred bucks and she gets me a putter set up,,

I can guess my presents and I'm real good at it, I said why does this feel like a putter? Shes like how do you know , I just can for some reason,

I told her I really like to hit the guy in the buggy with balls nothing else just that and you got me a friggen putter?? I still have it I keep it as a joke,,

Well anyway all my buddies show up with clubs and all I had was that dam putter,

Now picture me riding up with my putter in my hammer loop on my carpenter pants,, never stopping to tee off and playing polo style,,,

I would love to play more, but with 3 kids under 8 and a full time nursing student for a wife, I don't get to play as much as I would like. I refuse to play in the heat of the summer, that is not enjoyable.

Even playing twice a month, I usually keep it at about 78 or under.
