What Keeps You Coming Back To ContractorTalk.com?

Can you tell me what keeps you coming back to ContractorTalk.com? Is it that you have ongoing projects? Is it friendships you have developed here or that you like helping others with their work challenges? Something else altogether?

Is it my sunny disposition?

What made you come back after you visited the first time?

Habitual curiosity. Sometimes you might learn something new, other times it confirms what you knew already.

Cheapest shot & a beer bar in town.

Also, I fall down a lot, no matter where I go. Here, nobody seems to mind.

Just like every local bar, that tradesman frequented, I'd ever been to. Being from Wisconsin, in and around Milwaukee, that was like every three blocks most places.

Finding tho that without the beer and shots, I want to punch stupid people in the face, much more often. Or maybe it's just becoming a grumpy old carpenter type, that loved to chew up green arse fools Hated them 'Richards', I get it now

When you sort thru all the bs, for the most part there are some very knowledgeable folks on this site that are willing to share their experience and wisdom.

Re: What Keeps You Coming Back To ContractorTalk.com?

What made me come back was that i found myself learning how to run my business better, a LOT better. Then over time i found that i could contribute and help out others who have a particular question. As already said it is reassuring to see others in the same trade think the same way you do in regards to a process / product etc.

I have noticed my time on here goes in spells, i will check in daily for a while then it drops off a bit, then way off for another good while.

Re: What Keeps You Coming Back To ContractorTalk.com?

I shaved years off my learning curve by coming on here when I first became a contractor four years ago

Learned a lot about how to price jobs.

Learned a lot of techniques, tips, tricks, and hacks.

I keep coming back to learn, contribute a little bit, and gaze in wonder at the wall of shame pictures.

Re: What Keeps You Coming Back To ContractorTalk.com?

Well I have no life so to login here is some thing to do before I pass out from drugs and booze

In the real world I come here for many reasons the first is to post more than Griz he can not live longer than me .

Stopping by C.T. is like calling in at your local bar, get the 911 on what's going on learn some stuff from some clever folks, poke a little fun here and there.

C.T. is for me a place for camaraderie, I can never see me not stopping by .

Thanks guys and a few girls.

I can't stop thinking about work so at least if I log on here I can stop worrying about my own jobs and worry about someone else's for a bit I guess.

I learn quite a bit just by trolling here.

I try to contribute when I think I have something of value to pass along.

Then there is the train wreck syndrome, you know, ya just have to stop and look.
