Well Fark Me..

As of Wednesday we will have a mandatory mask "law". I just ordered some bandana type peices if chit, but am still looking for something decent.

What are you guys wearing. I don't really want to be the douch wearing a dust mask or a N95 valved respirator.

Needless to say, I am a bit pissed. Somehow, over the last few months I must have been teleported to communistofascist town.

To paraphrase an ex-member, We are so f....d.

Re: Well Fark Me..

I haven't been wearing anything. Neither has my wife or kids.

For the first week or so, I wore a surgical mask that a manager at tractor supply gave me while I was in his store.

After that I said fug it, I'm not doing it. My wife is even more adamant about not wearing one.

So far, haven't been kicked out of any stores. Or arrested. Or fined. We are prepared to leave a store if asked, and not go back. So far that hasn't happened.

Gotten plenty of dirty looks, but no one's dared to say anything to me. My wife has been scolded twice, once by another customer in a store, once by a store clerk.

Re: Well Fark Me..

Make sure to only use masks that explicitly state they protect from COVID-19 transmission.... "sarcasm".

We don't wear masks, haven't seen anyone else on site wearing them either.

When we were opened back up I did provide the guys with bandanas for compliance reasons, though.

Re: Well Fark Me..

Its running about 50% masked around here in most places. It doesn't make a lot of sense honestly.
We went to a small family graduation party Sunday and someone there found out yesterday that they had tested positive for Covid, but were asymptomatic. Great...my wife actually spoke to that person at the party.
I'm pretty much fed up with the whole ordeal. It seems like no one knows what the f## is going on or what to do about it.

I think most of those laws are feel good laws. My brother goes down to Miami often for work. I don't think he wears one either. I don't but I'm not around a lot of people.

If you have to wear something to make people feel good, use a neck gaiter. Been popular for years for fishing to keep the sun off your neck and face but still breathable.

Re: Well Fark Me..

How about a Trump mask. Sure to piss off at least as many people as you would piss off by not wearing one (probably more).

Looks like there are lots of choices:

NJ has had a mask order in place for months and I do the same...ignore it. If they give me sh*t, I claim a medical exemption. If they push the issue, I walk and take my business elsewhere.

Currently, I am in NC and they have the same bs order. I still do as above and it works out fine.

The mask is not about health, it is about compliance. Next will be a vaccine...

Re: Well Fark Me..

I wear masks in stores that require it, sometimes. I'll walk through the door put it on and somewhere in the store take it off. I'll put it back on in when I reach the cashier. It's their store, their rules.

Out and about it's never on and never will be. The govt doesn't have the authority to force someone to wear an item of clothing or protection. If they want me to wear it they can 1st of all provide it to me free of charge (I've already paid for it with my taxes, free my azz).

The sheep all around me wear them. Going to WalMart you have to wait in line because they have restrictions on how many people can be inside. I'd say 95% of the people waiting in line wear them while waiting. The rule is say 6' apart or you need to wear a mask. The line has 6' markers, so why wear the mask? Baaaaaaa....

Re: Well Fark Me..

100% of people are masked in stores here since March
everything from bandanas, surgical masks, n95 masks, specialty masks, pull up fishing sun protection masks to actual respirators with cartridges. Surgical are the easiest and most available now much better then the home made cloth masks when it first started.

With the surgical masks you can actually breath and are not too hot but the strings break off sometimes. Most people here buy 50 at a time. I take it off as soon as I step out of the store.

There are still people here wearing them outside- while driving alone in a car or running

I don't and wont wear one. These things are not laws so feel free to ignore them. Any "order" by the governor or whomever is, at best, a suggestion. And if they worded it that way, more people might do as they are ASKED (but not me )

Had to go to the bank yesterday and see a banker, they want people to wear one, so being nice I did. What a pain fogged up my glasses , harder to breath, so ended up taking it off. Don't think I will be doing it again.

Re: Well Fark Me..

When my wife had to go to the ER, I had to bend to the will...the desk gave me a mask to wear..had I refused, my wife would have entered without me.

Aside from that, no masks, not ever.

I wear a strip of something or other. Looks like upholstery, feels like a towel. Frayed edges, dirt and sweat on the outside. If a store doesn't require it, I don't wear it.

That's what they do here. The governor suggest wearing them but won't sign an order to do so. Some counties have required them but I doubt it gets any more compliance. If my county requires it, I definitely won't.

I have one client that wants people to but he said he doesn't care if I do or not as we have a pretty close relationship. He said it's mainly for the people he doesn't know very well.

Re: Well Fark Me..

Besides the glasses getting fogged up (which is fixable with anti fog wipes) what's the resistance to wearing the mask when close to people indoors? It's the one thing that actually works to keep you and those around you from getting Covid.
